There is always option D: Make "shorter games in form of a longer game". Something like Peasant Pete "episodes" in scale simillar to First Stretchalot, for 1$ each in form of DLC's. but i don't know how it would work in RPGM so i will leave it as Idea only. + if you will one day say "Next episode will be longer" u can just make it for 1,5$ or 2$. maybe not exactly Connected by timeline but "some adventure of Sir Stretchalot" maybe Tales of Sir Stretchalot, "he is telling stories about his adventures from his past". Mix length and do what you want.

Oh, man, this is exactly what I always wanted to do lol. Would be awesome because I wouldn't have to do new trailers or anything for each DLC and would allow a lot of freedom in what games I make and pricing.

But there's a couple issues with that approach that always stopped me.

The main one is that DLCs don't get the same sort of attention on Steam that proper releases do. Everyone who bought the base game (ep1) would get notified that there's a new DLC, but it doesn't really do anything to bring in new players like a new release does.

Like, when I've released the Stretchalot games on Steam, most of the sales are within the first month.

So, yeh, I don't think that would work so well. It sorta needs to be separate releases.

I suppose with separate releases I can always put them in a bundle so that players know they're all part of some sort of set.

true, and additional problem: There is limited times that you can Stretch! something in before it goes beyond Stretching limit and get boring. Sir Stretchalot would say otherwise, but it's not sustainable creating only Sir Stretchalot Adventures. + if you are making A lot small games there is Mental limit in human brain before it will be overwhelming or Worse "oh, shit. there is tons of it! it must be tons of crap then". Something like "there is too many games = he is mass producing crap games milking money" mentality. this is very tricky to balance out.

Yeh, I think what I'll do with the Stretchalot games is make new ones that are sort of unique from each other in a big way if I can.

Like, I know I want to one that's based around being a gladiator, but I also know I want to have one that's pirate themed. Those are both different enough, and would have different mechanics, such as training for the gladiator one and sailing, exploration for the pirate one.

And I also do want to try some completely different games not related to Stretchalot or Peasant Pete that I've been thinking about.

Hi everyone.

I've almost finished two more eps of Peasant Pete (Just waiting on art to get done).

For my next game I'm making another of my Sir Stretchalot games. Peasant Pete is not getting abandoned or anything, but it's laid out to be something I can always just come back and add new episodes to. It's not really designed to be finished.

Also, I need something I can sell on Steam and elsewhere, and something that will help me get more patreons. Peasant Pete has the same amount of words as my 2nd Stretchalot game, but I don't know how to sell it on Steam without an ending or anything, so it's sorta difficult for me.

The money I make on steam from my two Stretchalot games have paid for all my game dev expenses and helped me out a lot with just normal expenses, but I need to start making more, so another Stretchalot should help with that.

Plus, I wanna make another Stretchalot. It's been too long haha, and I've got heaps of new ideas to make better games than the first two.
