I'm pretty sure most people would care though, you're clearly irregular here. Most people aren't going to flip through a sex scene, encounter scat (or guro) and go "oh ok" and just keep going without being bothered or put off.I wouldn't care lol, I've seen plently of fucked up VNs where that stuff was part of the story and completely non-optional.
I don't think I agree with this at all, I'd guess that most people do not want their loved ones cheating on them and especially not in a humiliating way. Whatever metrics you're using are likely skewed for a number of reasons, and while the amount of fans may not be small in number, I would still definitely consider them a minority. Also, NTR isn't "unpopular", both actual and the new fake definition that includes sharing and orgies, people who hate it are just really vocally angry and tend to brigade so they think there are more of themselves than there actually are. If you look at any objective porn metrics from game sales to hub site data you'd see that NTR haters are a minority.
I do agree that the term has ballooned and is being used to encapsulate things that it probably shouldn't though, ie. sharing which is voluntary and endorsed by the player (mind you I don't think that's excessively popular either, but far more so than actual NTR).
There's probably no actual NTR in this game, but I don't like the content that falls under the "new fake definition" as you call it either so I'm more than happy for the tag to be used on games that include that type of content as a warning that I should investigate before committing time to playing them. Usually it's as simple as finding a post that says it's optional, which gives me the green light. I'd much rather go through that than download a game just to find out half the content is the MC whoring his LI out.
