Lol totally forgot about them... part of my memory had changed them into rats for some reason.
The Temple would be another prime place for Snakes... better than some moldy old Mill that doesn't even have any rats left!
Mabey because he says it started out as rats then the snakes showed up(?) Probably why u remeber it that way.
He added wolves to a couple of areas in the Maghda/Gwynneth update. Mostly so you wouldn't have to travel to the Dark Forest to get wolf pelts. Still means he's okay with adding opponents to areas, assuming there's a reason for it. Maybe add a chance of snakes dropping venom glands so they're worth more than just xp to fight.
I'd say the problem with adding snakes to the areas is poison, new players don't have access to cure poison and it would be a PITA. maybe they could be added to a cave where a gorgon/lamia resides
I agree adding them to the existing "early" zones would be hard on beginner players. I mean the Mill & Spider Cave are already hard for those starting a new game without chests because of.the lack of potions.
The south-west leads to the Swamp and from the look/sounds of it that is all that region may be if its expanded. Mostly vast Marshlands. I could imagine Snakes being found there. Because of where it is in story & what's already there I consider this a "mid-high" lvl zone so they would make more sense. Perhaps some "drier" regions & mabey a sunken tomb of some kind could have them crawling about?
Would be nice if they drop Venom Glands & mabey even Snake Skins so you have reason to fight them. Otherwise they are what I consider a pest enemy (this includes Bats & Giant Mosquitoes).
