When I read a book, I don't say, "Oh shit! Gandalf just died!", and rip the page out of the novel because I didn't like the outcome. No, I keep reading so the author can continue the story... his story.

For example, in TAC and TACOS, if you tell Anne "No," then you're in for a pretty vanilla story and sometimes she'll get pretty pissed at the MC.
