When I read a book, I don't say, "Oh shit! Gandalf just died!", and rip the page out of the novel because I didn't like the outcome. No, I keep reading so the author can continue the story... his story.
For example, in TAC and TACOS, if you tell Anne "No," then you're in for a pretty vanilla story and sometimes she'll get pretty pissed at the MC. We make the choices in those games/VNs because we will see the content. After all, I am not Steph's husband. I am an outside observer. It's not me getting cucked, it's Oliver. I don't need him to "grow a spine" because I'm not him. I am just watching and daring Steph to keep giving us thrills.
I just don't see how people can get upset with Oliver or Steph. Steph is doing what Oliver wants her to do. Will she end up being like Anne of TAC/TACOS? Maybe, but I can imagine, probably not. It depends on the DEV. I am reading his/her story, not the story everybody else wants.
Some of you with better memories than me, can you answer this question: Is there a Yes/No choice everytime Steph wants to get friskie? If there is than these people who are upset are making the wrong decisions. It's the same thing with TAC. Anne hooks up with her father-in-law because the reader made that choice and is now pissed off at her. What The Actual Fuck!
I think some of the readers of this VN should "grow a spine" and remove themselves from its narrative and treat this like a movie where you have no input as to its outcome. And if you don't like the movie, stand up, put your popcorn down, and leave the theater.
