Ren'Py - Completed - Personal Trainer [v1.1.2] [Domiek]

This is one of the most difficult reviews that I'll probably write. There are some really great parts of this game and then, at times, it feels empty.

The game tries to be too realistic in some areas (different body types) and then over the top unbelievable in others (I'm just here for you to fuck me, please do so NOW). It feels awkward. Either make it an ultra realistic VN or an over the top unbelievable one, but not both at the same time. Trying to be funny seems to trump everything though.

Good

• Good renders
• Detailed character models
• Good variety of characters
• A good range of personality types
• Great writing
• Humorous
• Good hint system - no walkthrough required - rare in most games

Bad

• Too many repetitive events. The same events keep playing over and over again to do what exactly? Pass time, there are better ways by far. At least have three or four variations of the same event if they are going to be repetitive. Greying out the option would even be better if there are no repetitive scene variations.
• Too many thick and unattractive girls. I much prefer fantasy over realism in this area (my opinion of course)!
• Game is too realistic at times and unbelievable at others - lack of consistency isn't good here (makes the game feel awkward)
• Humor trumps everything; even if it breaks the story or is too far fetched
• Need more things to do with the open world system - feels bare bones aside from the gym events
• Time passes inconsistently. For example, going to the Cafe in the morning and talking with anyone advances the time till late afternoon? In the gym, you can do lots of events with only a small passage of time. Never met anyone who took 6 hours to drink their coffee
• Needs more dialog choices and options. In too many instances I thought to myself, "I would really like to do or say this..."
• Got to have that incest tag or it isn't a game right? Dare to be different instead of following the incest crowd

I've read most of the reviews. I'm sorry, but I can't see how anyone can give this game 5 stars. I base this off of my experience with lots of other Ren'Py visual novels on this site. I guess my standards are much higher than most of the players handing out 5 star reviews like candy. No offense intended.

Do I recommend this game? I'm not really sure to be honest.

It is a good start for the author but isn't a perfect game by any means. My two cents worth, enjoy!

4,5 stars to this VN from me. It's not perfect but very fun to play.
Female models are detailed, vary from eachother - there are no obvious clones and everyone will surely find something to like (there is a plethora of various types of girls and women - from young to old, from fit to chubby, big cup, small cup, saggy, perky and so on).
This game has rid of all economic things and focuses only on action. Each girl has her daily schedule and player's job is to find time and place to discover new events. I like it this way cause it saves a lot of time (I hate grinding).
Personal Trainer has many kinks and lots of humor (kudos to the author of the texts - you made me laugh my ass off plenty of times).
Great game, I definitely recommend it!

Amazing game. The content is comical and keeps you entertained as you progress through the development of the characters and the ladies are incredibly sexy. Has some cookie cutter elements to the game but the script is hilarious and is just a very well developed game, Domdiek has crushed it on this game so far!

This is the type of game that I dread. I dread it because I genuinely want more! Sometimes my playtimes take longer because I refuse to play, in fear, that I would not be able to progress. Fearing that I would see the words, "There are no more events in this version."

Honestly love the variety of woman, although I tend to stray towards, Sophie, the lovable cousin of the PC. Try this game.

There are a few visual hiccups that I have noticed, but it's the story that Domiek made that makes this game one of my favorites.

I'm appalled to see that the game was abruptly ended. I have read and understood that it was for "practice," even still I can't help but wish for some closure with my favorite characters. R.I.P to a very promising game

Pros

Cons

• Open world setting doesn't really work as intended, mainly leads to a lot of repetition and searching for the right time and place in order to trigger a certain interaction, leading to loss of immersion and almost a feeling of grind.
• Suffers from too many in game contradictions. I'll try to explain what I mean below:

The dev doesn't seem to be able to decide what kind of game it is he/she is creating. Many times the plot is ludicrously unrealistic and the sex and interactions are silly. At other times, it's quite serious and realistic, even dark. Some characters are stereotypes turned into flesh. Others feel genuine and believable. None of it is bad unto itself (both silly and realistic games can be good), but it doesn't mix well and you get the worst of both worlds. Ie a game that doesn't feel realistic or believable, but where a lot of both characters and sex still are on the dumpy range of the attractiveness scale.

Also, a pet peeve of mine: If you're going to create a dominant male MC who likes to gag women with his cock and fuck them pain-anal style, don't give him a pencil dick. It makes it sad, rather than arousing.

Game version 0.40

Although this game is linear not many branch or don't have it but the story in this game makes it more interesting interaction between MC and other character. Example like how MC and Sophie their interactions is unique funny and hilarious plus sophie making funny face that's hilarious. We can also see that renders become better after the update. Example you can see is from Dani is not interesting from early version but it now it has become better. Got blue balls from this version from Dani but it's understandable as we can see more background story about Dani why she's very serious during her work. The dick girl is the funniest part for me hahahaha. This is my opinion on this game. If you guys like this game consider to support @Domiek on his patreon or you can leave a like on this game.

Aside from all the renders and girls (Which are great) the thing that really makes this game great is the dialogue and how the relationships with certain characters are built up.

Strongly recommend this one

I can't recommend this game simply because it suffers from two major flaws.

The first is the repetition. The game lets you roam freely around various locations and all the woman are on a needlessly complicated schedule as to where they'll be at certain times of the day.

The problem here is the same scene will play over and over even if you are following the schedule for a particular woman. It makes literally zero sense story wise having the same conversation with your cousin at breakfast over and over day after day, or her in her room watching the same show every night on a laptop regurgitating the same lines.

The same can be said with your boss telling you she's working on financial reports practically all day every day and can't chat. Also, the woman pretending to be caught under a table you can have sex with. You get the same scene every time. It would be better to just not have these people available at these times, but then it would mess with the schedule system I guess. Note: these are just a few of many examples of this.

The second flaw is that the sex scenes are pretty short and uninspiring. All that clicking around seeing repeatable dialogue and scenes for it to not even pay off is frustrating.

On the positive side the game has good renders, a good variety of characters (not all characters will suite everyone) and a pretty good setting and setup for the story.

I ran into only one glitch in my playtime.

You had me at "No Grind"..... Honestly, I love this game. This review is for the .4 version, so I MAY need to update as the story progresses, but I definitely love the no grind aspect. The characters are diverse in size, ethnicity and general personality. The story is "simple" but interesting and keeps me coming back for more. The "newer" renders really show a development of talent and/or adapting style and that's cool to see.
I like how this developer updates. Several hundred renders and there are multiple "events" to witness. Contrast that to other games wherein you might get a claim of 1200 renders and most of them are just an arm moving 3 inches or switching angles of this and that and not really story progression. (Not calling anyone out there. Just saying, this game is different. Every render seems important and relevant.)

I didnt expect much out of this game but i actually ended up liking it.I tried v0.29 and i gotta say that there's plenty of content already.Its not grindy as promised and the story is fine in my book.My only complain is the animations but you can see as you get to the newest update content that those improve.

A great 'Harem' game with erotic situations and great sexe scene. The story is not here the focus point, instead it's more than you meet a lot of different girls, from different ages, siez, etc. and not only 'perfect' and boring bimbos. Amy, for exemple, is so hot, a frustrated milf with so many sexual energy in her !

This game surprised me with it's funny scenes and great dialogue between MC and women. The Sex scenes themselves could use improvement visually and having sound wouldn't hurt but the writing is amazing which in most cases the reverse. I do love the variety of body types. With it's unique setting and role the MC plays makes it one of the more interesting games available.

most of the freeroam games needs the schedule of this game.
it has well written. it does not know from anywhere, you are learning from characters.

I don't get the high rating for this game. It looks good, but it is so dull. I had to struggle to make it 30 minutes or so. I finally gave up after seeing the wig fall off of a stripper. No, that's not a euphemism. The concept is interesting but the characters aren't . Nothing drew me in. The story telling is strange. The barista started telling me her life story and talking to me like we had know each other for months if not years, even though we had just met.

People seem to like the game, but it does nothing for me.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is v0.27...

This was a fun jaunt for being primarily a Relationship Grinder... And it's still way early in it's development for having as much content as it does...

The visuals of the characters are a varying mix between many decent looking characters and some others that are slightly over exaggerated, all while coving several body type fetishes... From those looking from petite, to heavy, to highly muscular, to MILF and even GILF, etc... Not all those are my bag, but they add variety... The backdrops are mix of ones I've seen before and some unique ones... The scenes were designed well... Not much in the way of animations, but that isn't always a necessity in these things... Navigation was easy to understand as well as the game mechanics UI...

The script was pretty good with only a few spelling/grammar errors... The plot revolves around a male protagonist who was cheated on, fired from his job, and ends up moving in with his female cousin... You know what that means, yes, there is some incest in this one... The protagonist gets a job by tricking his way into working at an All Female Gym as a personal trainer, as the title suggests... From there it turns into a Relationship Grinder, with the typical Day-Time-Location mechanics... As you progress with each primary characters story line, further scenes and/or events open up... This is where most of the story takes place... And although some things feel a bit out of touch with reality on a handful of occasions, it works well for this VN/Game...

There is plenty of humor, several fetish choices to select from, side characters with no real story (mostly there as filler), and so on... There were a few side selections that don't really do anything and feel like they could really have been left out, as they were pretty much just single shot peeving views, nothing else...
There are elements of Male Domination, Romance, Friendships, and lots of other stuff... And it doesn't always take itself seriously, but not so far as to take away from the story elements or ruin any of the more emotional type moments... Not all choices matter much in the long term, but some matter quit a bit, so just be aware... I'm happy the primary love interest is a more romantic story with lots of sarcastic humor, which makes it kind of feel like a Romantic Comedy, but I'm a sucker for that, so of course I was laughing and smiling and all the other emotions, with that particular story line... The others are done well also...

Being so early into development, there is a lot of content, with room for much more, as we'll hopefully see as this VN/Game develops... There are some repetitive scenes, but that is typical of grinders... Some did kind of feel like they either were not keeping in line with that particular characters story arc... But I hope those will get tweaked and you can ignore them... Such as when the cousins story gets to a certain point where she is comfortable being practically naked around the protagonist, and yet when you try to peek in on her getting changed in the evening, she gets angry at him still.... It's just a couple little moments like that, where the immersion slightly breaks... But for the most part, story continuity is handled really well through most of the character story arcs...

Now do not get me wrong, the grinding elements in this VN/Game are very minor, usually involved with discovering the right times, days, and locations to either kick off the next step in a story arc, or to experience events outside of the story arcs... Nothing like you would find in games with money and stats to worry about, as those do not exist in this one...

Overall, I believe the developers are on the right track with this VN/Game so far, and I expect there will be more characters introduced as development continues... There is just the right amount of intrigue, adventure, perhaps a bit of perving (lol), romance, comedy, etc... Decently written dialogue and monologue, and although it's not a super deep story line, it's deep enough... Feeling meaninful and impactful... Sure, some things are slightly over the top on occasion, but it wasn't so bad... And since not all the characters have story lines, you could technically avoid those and be fine, if they are not your thing... I look forward to seeing how this one develops, and will definitely check back a bit later on, once a bunch more content gets released...

Great game, can't wait for more Sophie events. although at times there are instances to get stuck in the game. i hope the animations get fluid overtime like with SS but maybe that's just asking too much still one of the great games i have played so far and constantly checking for updates.

5/10 Not bad .. Not good. in the middle of something I don't understand. What I hate is that there are still the same scenes after 2 weeks. And I don't get a random triger event. Something's wrong. Of course I laughed when a thick wardrobe in my dressing room fell over me. So? I don't want to keep trying. Guess, search, wait. It certainly is not a good work.

What I like:
First of all what sets this game apart from every other game I played here (and those are a lot) is that the models look astoshingly realistic - not concerning photorealism, but most games here go for hyper-stylized dolls or just don't care for the most part. This game is refreshingly different in that regard since almost all characters have "visual flaws" making this feel like these are actual women and I think there was much thought given to each character and I really like that.
With that being out of the way this is a reasonably well executed sandbox-game with a built-in hint system on how to progress with each character and lots of kinky stuff to explore.

What I don't like:
I have to be a little nitpicky at this point but the MC behaves pretty much like a rabbit - he can fuck like 10 times a day every day, but his stamina in a single encounter leaves much to be desired imho.

TLDR: To quote myself from this game's thread: "This game (at least so far) is a sweet journey of 'pleasing women in need' without thinking about consequences..."
