Plenty of options, you can as well watch and stay. And it is not forced, just coming natural, without you noticing.

Yes it seems to go the same way many of these "phone games" go, a couple of inspired updates in the beginning and then they disappear. Pity.

Two months since last update, and just over a week since the dev said it was 95% ready.
I'm not gonna say it's abandoned, but I have a feeling the update won't be what people want after waiting so long.
