If a leak occurs 5 days before the release of an updated, better version, then the players who would have seen it would have received the old version due to the leak, and when the new version came out, they would not have seen it because the game was no longer listed as "latest update".

You are entirely correct that I forgot about the promotions and the "latest updates" part of the forum. I only use the overarching "Games" category to search through the newest games posted. I still doubt that promoting an old leaked version would have any major effects. (If you view it as a problem, I would recommend you check with the staff to see if it is possible to delay the promotion until you release the improved free version).

If a user of the latest updates page checks out the game with the old version, they can either like it or not like it. If they like the old version, they will probably check out the Patreon page and the thread. They are also likely to check back every so often for updates; they might even become a patron. If the user doesn't like the old version enough to follow the game/subscribe to Patreon, the improved free version is unlikely to change their mind, even with bug fixes and story adjustments. The game having NTR paths will also immediately drive away many users.

It is almost a certainty that people will complain about the bugs and inaccuracies, though. Hopefully, many of the users would at least skim the thread to see if the bugs are known about; some people just can't be bothered though and will post without a second thought. A few uninformed users shouldn't be that big of a problem, though, just somewhat annoying.

Yes, in order to follow the NTR path, you need to deliberately reduce love to 90 (it used to be 82 before the changes)

Both NTR and NTS paths are equally saturated, there is different content, and after 0.10 there will already be a significant discrepancy in content, as I promised.
