an automated "Abandoned" tagging system that is arbitrarily set by the F95 admins/mods based on last thread OP update, and automatically applied to game threads without any manual check/intervention
Not to be pedantic (but I'm going to be pedantic :KEK:),

I don't think there's any automation to it? It's technically meant to happen after only 3 months of radio silence from a dev, and that's happened plenty of times without a tag being applied until someone reports it.

I do wonder how you'd even automate such a system? Input which specific socials the dev has a presence on, and create a bot to scan those socials prior to the 3-month marker for new posts, with the timer resetting each time the thread receives an update?

It seems like such a system would need a lot of manual overhead - for every single new project posted on here, you'd have to manually input which specific socials and usernames to scan for dev posts. How would it know if the dev moves socials? Another manual input? There are socials where you need to log in with a verified account in order to see the R-18 content - but I suppose the F95 team could create an account for this purpose, so that one's not an issue at least.

There's also the solo dev projects that sometimes get posted by F95 members who have no socials. Would it count their F95 as the social? But what if they're making posts that have nothing to do with their project for 3 months, does the bot have some sort of AI functionality to determine that? And could you trust it?

Abandoned. What a shame. I'm from the era of Line Marvel's 2D platform games and I really like this game. Shame. I still don't understand why, having good sponsors, they don't continue with the game.

Abelius is still busting his balls on this one, it's not actually abandoned. It's just milked with no updates so frequently that it may as well be, but don't worry as it won't bother Abelius MUCH as he's really working hard on a part 1 of his 2052 update that adds another landlord groping scene.

Ah man, the game got abandoned for real? this sucks. I was waiting for lesbian sex.
It's not abandoned. For some reason (if there was one, I forgot about it), he stopped posting updates on both Patreon and SS since May, posting progress reports exclusively in Discord (which drops semi-regularly). By this site's rules, 6 months of radio silence is enough to count as abandoned till actual update release.

Even if he was posting progress reports on patreon and SS this probably would still get marked abandoned since the dude hasn't put out actual content in however many months.

Also love how in that one snip from discord he said he didn't really care about it being marked abandoned on here when that should be a huge red flag for the weirdos still subbed to jump ship since they haven't gotten any actual content to play in this many months. I don't know how that wouldn't be a wake up call to stop paying this dude to make pictures and type up random progress report crap instead of just putting out actual content.

Ah, yes I think you're right. I'd heard from other users that the Abandoned prefix was applied automatically when the thread OP hadn't been updated in a particular amount of time, but I've just looked up the definition of the prefix in the rules, and I can see now there is a lot more to it than that, so it must be manually managed. So my bad on that.

Still, my main point still stands in that it's simply the judgement of a thread moderator on a third-party piracy forum and shouldn't be taken by users as a definitive indication of the game's development status (but of course many do see it as definitive, which is why I don't like this system. But I won't go on about it any further because it would be too off-topic).
