wtf is up with all the hostility towards the dev in this thread?
They're a bunch of Legend Of Krystal fans that are holding onto a grudge
It's kind of a mix of self inflicted hostility and the normal internet assholes.
To try and sum it up the game came on here couple years ago and dev interacted a lot with people here in the forums, getting feedback, attention and what have you since the base game was a mass of potential while occasionally dealing with the everyday dickwads that may pop up, nothing severe. Dev gets patreon and all that really going, picking up subscribers from here. Fast forward a bit and updates are super slow, dev isn't following many self set update schedules while still interacting somewhat here so some people get upset about it, not anything major but since he is taking subscription money more people felt miffed about it. Fast forward even more, the amount of content has basically stagnated, new updates were few and far between with mostly minimal actual content being added for mainly contrived sounding reasons. People are desperate for anything new on the title so people that are paying the sub start posting the "premium" version of the game every time it get's released to this site which gets the dev angry (you know despite most of his subs most likely coming from here or sites like this).
Finally a new update was coming with at least some new content after what felt like years of waiting and again someone "leaked" the sub only version and dev goes somewhat nuclear deleting every post they ever made on the site and stops interacting with any and all people here which spiked some vitriol. Come to find out a bit later that even before that and continuing after that the dev was constantly insulting and shit talking the people here on his sub only echo chamber discord which then inflated vitriol more and the continued lack of updates while asking for sub money to continue the project along with the dev basically refusing to get more hands on the project that some people are actively funding for a reason that most guess is greed over the sub money and you end up with the hostility here.
Like some are angry at the dev specifically for how they went about and are still going about the game and others just are disappointed something that had so much potential years ago seems like it's going to hard stagnate for what seems to be pure money generation. There aren't that many games in this style of corruption and luckily for the dev the artist he got to do the assets in game is great, which has been mentioned but the art is really what keeps attention to this project since the few other games in the same style as this one have worse art so a lot of people still pay attention to this one because they want to see this style of game with this level of art get completed but then they show up and see that there's been barely any content updates since months/years ago and the hostility unfortunately continues.

what about years of a nothing-burger? there are ton of 3D games here that start developing like yesterday and have far more content then this after years.

As you said, there are ton of other games here. Despite all this, there are some people who can't resist coming back regularly to criticize the development of this game. You'd think it was personal.

Can't speak for them as i was never a donator, but if people feel cheated out of their money after donating for a few months with nothing to show for it, i guess they could consider their criticism 'paid for' and would indeed be a personal issue.

I agree with that.
But I doubt we have many donors on this pirate forum.
Pretty sure most of his donors came from pirate forums, specifically this one. Arguably where the game got most of it's traction, especially with the pizza cold demo thing on here too. Dev got a lot of feedback and interaction here before cutting ties to insult the people on this forum in their sub only echo chamber discord. I did make a more lengthy post a couple posts up on why some people here would be upset the way they are. It's not really some mystery.

That has to be a joke yeah? What cycle has he ever been on that he's breaking? He constantly delayed releases by months and then gave piddly small unfinished scenarios (Think we have like 4 unfinished ones currently after all the time the games been in "development")
I honestly don't get how the people that pay the subs believe this stuff outside sunk cost fallacy.
Pretty sure this guy wants to provoke. He doesn’t deserve anymore money. Either the game is so good and has more potential on top.

Unaware in the City has frequent updates and the dev is active in the thread to answer questions and respond to feedback. They're recently began to do a major update on the engine and optimize existing code, but it used to update every two weeks or so for comparison.
Course of Temptation would be closer to Pizza Hot in terms of feel, though is text based with the exception of clickable overworld maps to move between locations. You can pick MCs gender and sexual preference in it though, which deserves mention as that's fairly uncommon. It also has a fairly frequent update cycle.
