I can agree on that. There's too much you have a choice - as long as the choice is whatever I've already decided irl, we don't need that crap in games as well.
The absolute worst is when you reach what could be a branch in the path in some game and it's like this important scene or whatever, and you get to choose between two options, but then you choose one and the character is like "I can't do that". Then WHY is there even a choice? Seriously, no dev should ever do that. Telling me to choose just to do whatever they want anyway is dumb.

IF I have the choice of... let's say "show panties for money", "beat them up" or "walk away", I expect the choices to work as they are there already as options. Don't hit me with the "I can't fight yet" or "I'm no slut!"

Honestly these choices should stay hidden until the character reaches a certain lewdness and/or ability to beat people up, so people are rewarded for exploring, talking to people more than once and actually just going around doing stuff in the game, starting out slow with other events that are more about enduring this or that than just willingly showing your panties.

I get it, these are there so people know there's content to be had in the area or with some character, but I feel like they turn the game into a big checklist you know, like oh my lewdness is 14, I can flash that guy now and also use a short skirt.

But I rather be surprised with tons of hidden content that unlocks as you go explore rather than grinding this one fondling scene so you can then grind that showing your panties scene, so then you can grind that fingering scene to finally get the penetration scenes. Unaware in The City has the right idea with many events happening at random, though it still uses stats.

Just to play devils advocate, the reason games do the whole "you cant do that because stat is too low", is because devs want you to play their game as long as possible, and they know that 9/10 players want to "catch the carrot on the stick", so will grumble but chase the stat grind just to see what the resulting thing they unlock for doing so.

Take Fallout, making a super charismatic character will let you talk your way out of most situations, whereas high (or low) intelligence can give new options, the idea being that whatever stat you raise/grind gives the player new choices, or at least the illusion of choice. Same for romance and relationship building (in most rpgs), doing things chatacters like tends to fill an invisible stat that unlocks new dialogue etc. Things like that.
The idea is that you play the game multiple times and see differences.

Now the problem that tonnes of adult games devs run into is the same one that many small team devs also do. Because they are making the game in "chunks" and releasing small updates to an incomplete game, they try and grab as much attention as possible and cater to as many needs as they can.

Admirable, but this means that instead of hiding choices and events for a different playthrough, theyre trying to give everything all at once, I guess to show their fans that theyre doing *something*, as hiding content will make backers complain.

Thats why so many porn games either just give you the content from the get go with no stats needed (or have like a corruption meter that builds for doing so), or have these obnoxious "you canr do that unless you grind x to unlock z".

A good game SHOULD hide these from the player, true, but the small dev teams cant afford to hide anything other than easter eggs else players will simply see them as lazy and doing nothing. And of course, sometimes you get players who will give up on games because they dont understand these hidden choices.

HAVING SAID ALL THAT.
Pizza Hot is a baffling sort of unicorn that offers no reward for grinding. There's just nothing, mainly because updates are so slow and poor, but I can only assume that poor planning on what the choices are and how to unlock them.

Anyway, yeah. Too many adult games take the piss with this, and pizza hot is one of the worst offenders.

Playing other games in the meantime... One good thing about 'Pizza Hot', is it does not pressurize you that much (or did not yet get to implement) into constant feeding your character enough food & water, showering and cleaning during the day, training being a good cook, regular gym visits to stay strong and agile, literally trying to emotionally blackmail you into constant worrying about your MC's basic needs, else she won't survive, apparently:ROFLMAO:

I mean, when will all the sexy games quit it with all the cooking and sleeping :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Which is kind of weird... I will be more likely to keep playing if I'm aware that there's content around that's not just thrown on my face or on the journal or whatever. I kind of like exploring and being rewarded just for walking around. Currently playing Skyrim for the first time with a bunch of mods and I LOVE how sometimes you get objectives just from reading some random book. It's the fucking best!

In games where there are branches or things change depending on stats (fallout, Skyrim, etc) I usually have an issue... and it is that the first time I play it is the HONEST time. I react to things without knowing what happens next and don't know who betrays who or anything, and I build my character without knowing fully how things work, so my choices are honest. After that it feels like going through the thing to see if something changes. I enjoy them still, but yeah. Skyrim seems to have so much freedom I might actually be able to have more than one long ass playthrough though.

I think Claire's Quest does a great job with this. You don't have "sexual objectives" just objectives and depending on how you complete them you get more of one stat or the other, and these missions are EVERYWHERE, with NPCs that don't even have markers on their heads or anything.

Last time I played with "honest choices" was
ProblematicSubjects [v1.1.0 dev1] [Babus Games]
and I ended up running out of stamina & punished with Meh Ending.
First time I played with my MC being a super hero was
The Lewd Knight [v0.99] [Feodosiy]
and I ended up running out of time to buy her groceries and it was late at night and I needed her to go sleep, because I also wanted to close the game and leave it for the day. She cried like a baby in her bed, and showed having dreams about food, poor thing.
So, I don't know. Maybe if the next lewd game with female MC on the market, won't have her showing any stats, just actually be an lewd adventure, concentrating on what is exciting for her, not what each NPC around her wants her to do, not her basic bodily needs, I will not be complainin';-)

Like d1553n7 said, Amen to that. Beginning developers think using that tactic adds immersion but all it does is add a nuisance factor that distracts the player from the content that's lacking. You are right, Pizza Hot didn't annoy us with that but for too long it ignored the sexy game player's basic needs, which for games like this is excitation, escalation then copulation.

120% with u guys. More events, routes and less obvious answers in dialogues could make this game much more interesting and replayable. It would be less annoying to play the game right from the start again on another update not only because of the newly added content but because of the content you've missed previously.

But still there would be a LOT of people that wont be happy about it. Its like when another fighting game is coming out with only 8 characters open and 8 hidden and people like "WTF!? WHY SHOULD I PAY 100$ FOR ONLY 8 CHACTERS?!!!"

And that's why nowadays I just wait patiently until games drop all their DLC and whatever the fuck they add and then buy the full complete edition... on discount during some holiday lol.

Also you guys think there will be a christmas-themed update? My bet is on a sexy christmas-themed outfit we can't use and a tree at the pizza place.

When he was a member here, he explained is. I do not remember it because it made no sense to me. But he did explain it before he removed al of his talks.

Christmas does work however. It is in our heads and what we will see is our own personal imagination. And it is personal and not sharable.

Yes we have to use our imagination, just like with the current sex scenes in the game.

this will be in a future update, that'll be in a future update, the dev will come suk you off in a future update. 4 years and still 'working it like his full time job'
It's not worth posting the meaningless developer logs here, but after the beta testing for v0.16 was supposed to start this week, the developer went off on a tangent once again—He wasted this entire week creating yet another “feature” and some technical nonsense to stroke his own ego.

This is exactly how he manages to stretch out an entire month: In the first week, he posts about how he's working hard. In the second and third weeks, he goes silent and barely posts anything. The last week of the month, he posts a hopeful update that he's close to completion, creating anticipation that things are going smoothly and the update should be forthcoming soon. This creates an endless cycle in which his supporters are under the impression that the update is coming soon, but they remain unaware that an entire month has passed, and they haven't received anything but excuses.

This pattern has repeated every single month for the past five years: There's something that breaks in his spaghetti engine, he goes off on a million diversions, doing anything but creating actual content. Then it requires him to test all those changes, wasting even more time, as it always breaks the game in a hundred different ways. It's all voluntary and intentional, and can be avoided entirely, but his main goal isn't to create content, but to make Pizza Hot a technical masterpiece... forgetting that this is just a porn game.

He's managed to stretch a quick and short update for three months, and now he'll stretch it even further till the end of December, and his paypiggies will be happy to be humiliated and keep funding the “development.”

Simply announcing the existence of the content without specifying how to access it is enough. The less motivated will look for the solution online, and the more passionate will try it out for themselves.

I don't like grayed-out or false choices; they're not exciting. But if the developer tells me that certain things are locked without specifying what they are or how to obtain them in the game, I'll search for them, and it will be very exciting to unlock that content when it's finally available.

On the other hand, if I'm unaware that there are hidden choices or content to unlock by following a certain path, I'll quickly move on to another game, especially if the gameplay is grindy.
