When writing a review it has to be entirely on the merits of the game itself and not have anything to do with the developer or development process, etc.
First, I disagree, especially since most of the games on here have some kind of backing behind them with lots of users following/supporting a developers (or many developers) progress over a long time. So, problems with said development cycle should absolutely allowed to be criticised. Even if it "hurts someones teeny weeny feelings"...

Second, only the first and last sentences of my review was about Abelius bad development practises.
The other 80%+ of my review was about key points of the game being undercooked and in general just shit.

Removing a review of this kind is already an asshole move.
Not giving any explanation even more so.
But what really pisses me off and can 100% be called censorship is blocking me from creating a revised review. That's just horrible malpractise and misuse of moderation power.
And well, censorship, plain and simple.

The mod who issued that block should him/herself be at least questioned for this trigger happy behavior and/or maybe even removed from mod status for this.

Just my two cents.

Oh and yeah, this too:

BUT,
if it has to be down fully to the merits of the current game itself, and NOT about development process, as you said,

THEN I DEMAND THE THOUSANDS OF FIVE STAR POSTS ABOUT "POTENTIAL" TO BE TAKEN DOWN!

100% agree on that.

Anyways, I'm gonna move on now since I don't really care about this pos of a game anymore...
See ya around Space Cowboy...

I love games like this!
Wish there were more of them. I wish the ones there are were finished instead of abandoned.
I hope this one lasts. I love the character designs.

And one other thing, though...
...and trust me, I reall don't wanna argue with you...

Seriously, THAT shit made me furious quite a lot of times.
I can tell you, I've probably downloaded and tested 30 games, because they had a good 4 - 5 star rating.
And these game were utter garbage.
Pure trash.
Worthless.
So I checked those reviews and how some sort of dirt can get four stars.
It's been dozens of members, giving 5 star reviews to demo versions from two years ago, because the game "had potential" once.
The truth is that even in its current state, you can play and enjoy the game for many hours. You don't even need to consider its potential as a future full game to appreciate it. Despite its bugs and unfinished state, it is still of much higher quality than what we usually see on this forum. I see no problem in giving it a high rating.

I do remember the elevator pitch of Pizza Hot: a nice girl getting corrupted, slow burn. The promise, though, was more of an elevator smoke and mirror, empty. In the very beginning, the early demo felt alive. Bare bones, yes, but hey, it was just a demo, at least it had potential. Hold on to that memory. It’s the most finished part of the game we'll ever see, as all we have now is a grift

Every update touts "new locations" or "new events", and all the same. The new release introduced a beach. And it's just a static background with a couple of dead-end dialogues. The jumproper and kitchen cleaning were filler chores, not real additions. Months of waiting for scraps that feel like they took a weekend to code, heck, even I, a moron without being an IT genius and with over 69 years of experience, could do better, challenge me, Aby

Every update claims "fixed dialogue incoherencies" and "technical reworks". Too many to listen to. What fixes? Everyone still reports the same broken saves, nonsensical dialogue jumps, and busted stat tracking. It's like saying, I worked. And when you ask On what? the reply is: I worked. They’re just words typed to justify the time it takes for each release

This reminds me of the "quality of life improvements". What we got were arbitrary stat caps and grind padding. Progression was strangled, systems got clunkier, and play became less fun. Whose life was improved? Sure, his, and his imaginary family's. Not the players'

Now, call me a tinfoiled dum-dum, but negative reviews and threads don’t disapear by accident. That’s not protecting a vision, that's hiding a scam. Abelius isn't failing in public, he's curating an illusion of progress while silencing dissent. And don’t even make me start on his Discord, I’ve seen cults with more internal feedback than his server

With minimal output, his earnings have climbed to nearly $8,000 a month. Eight. Thousand. For a trickle of updates that look like they could be done in weeks. Now he even cut the one thing players actually praised, his artist, just to lower his own costs and raise his take-home. Why pay someone to do less when you can fire talent and get paid more for doing nothing? True genius, if your only skill is milking hope

This isn't a game in development, but a stalled project strung along to keep the cash flowing. I feel like a Malkavian who saw this thing ending like this since the Legend of Krystal days. Stop excusing him. Stop funding him. Pizza Hot is not cold, it’s moldy, rotting in a coffin box. The only way forward is to bury this scam

Of course! Paying $8,000 a month for a contentless demo is clearly a brilliant idea. Oh, right, all that "high quality" came from the artist, the one Abelius just fired...

I wOnder, how many five-star reviews do you think it would get now, with zero actual talent behind it?

Lol don’t forget it's v15D

Like it has invisible characters all over, for a few linear scenes that are barely worth it. The beach is total bugfest, straight up broken XD

Changelog says bug fixes… too many to mention. Lol fr? Can’t even name one bug that’s actually been fixed since v0.14 XD

The pizzeria, main hub, got totally fckd. Instead of making it better, it’s just more buggy. Old stuff, like trays with the wrong dishes, still broken. Bruh...

This is an absolutely glaring issue when you realize it. The Beach doesn't feel like a beach because everything is static. There are no ocean waves, no other NPCs, no other interactions, and there is no exploration allowed either. There's a horizontal line where the FMC walks on the ‘beach’ towards the ‘water’ and puts her towel in the ‘sand’ and that's it. You cannot even explore anything on the beach except two possible choices, either go for a swim, which is entirely automated, or have a suntan which is again, automated and requires no interaction or response. This entire update was a snoozefest and screams laziness, combined with only four H-events and the rest are based on RNG and chance.

Yes, people may be right to think that this game is a scam. But who cares? First, probably no one here is paying to play it, and second, we were talking about the game's rating: why bring up its cost?

And to answer your question, I have no idea how the rating will change when a new artist will work on the project. How would I know? How would you know?

He'll properly put up V15F by tomorrow.
Atleast he claims to have found one major source of bugs:
Apparently you need to add 4 extra line to make the game work properly on non US Win.

Still there are plenty of bugs sometimes:
One game the toilet was set as false. Not sure what triggered the game to not let me use it.
Next game it jumps over the kitchen event, forcing me to save edit to enable myself the option to clean it.
Another game NPC still don't work, even none generic, as Adam's GF was a ghost.

It's sad: this game has such a good premise and artwork.
Now the artwork might will change or be replaced entirely,
and the premise is sunk in the depths of unimaginativity.
All we get are additions, who do everything except the main plot of this game.

Btw, is there somewhere a video with all the "scenes"?
Doubt we'll ever get a gallery here.

Everyone should care. A scam isn’t separate from the product, but defines it. If a dev is pocketing $8k a month for filler updates and fake fixes, that’s why the game is still unfinished and buggy. You can’t rate it in a vacuum when the scam is the reason it’s broken to begin with

And yeah, plenty of people are paying, that’s literally what keeps this treadmill running. Many here used to pay too. Without that cash stream, we wouldn’t be stuck watching the same demo get recycled forever

Ratings are about value: what you get versus what was promised. When you’ve got a demo that hasn’t evolved in years, padded with regression, the cost and the scam context directly influence how honest that rating can be. Ignoring the scam context isn’t being objective, it’s just being dishonest

The art was the only part people actually praised. Remove that, and the game loses the one aspect holding it above utter mediocrity. Replacing him doesn’t magically fix the core issues: bugs, butchered content, and zero direction. Swapping artists doesn’t change the fact that the dev can’t code, he already admitted as much, actually boasting that he heavily relies on Playdate. So instead of expanding content, he censors criticism

So yeah, if you want to hand out five stars to a scam that got worse over time, go for it. Just don’t pretend that’s an honest rating

still waiting for a real kiss with Mr. Humper ... been left hanging for yearsss
the game was also left in a simply too grindy/ tedious state, for far too long. it's so slow, everything is. The animations, the loading screens, the blackscreen transitions.

I expected nothing from this update, nothing at all, and I'm still disappointed. Not only is the "new content" trash, some of it is RNG. In a game where doing anything takes a while, the loading screens take too long, and bugs decided to take over, RNG is not really a thing you want to be doing.

This update feels like a "You see!? I'm still working on the game! Don't stop throwing me money." kind of thing. It's very lazy and terribly unstable when I compare it to previous versions I've played.

Now... on the topic above... Who is even throwing this guy so much money? Have they not played the game? I can understand at first, but now it's just kind of dumb, especially when you get a buggy mess and a new area that's barely an area and struggles to keep itself together. I mean... do they actually hope the game makes progress one day?

This game should at least be running better, but it's worse. Also, the artist, probably the best part of this game, is gone now apparently...

Still thanks to whoever managed to get the update, because I'm sure as hell not paying for this one in this state lol. I've seen indie games that run perfectly, have more content and are free even. This ain't worth it.
