It's a good thing that the artist, Naikal, knew when to cut his losses and immediately dropped Pizza Hot like a hot potato. He realised that Abelius had everything he needed to milk the game forever, and didn't want to split the paycheck anymore because he had already provided him with the assets for the years to come. With the pace at which AI is improving, and Abelius is blatantly using AI in everything these days, he knew that his art would be fed to an AI imagen model to generate new assets with its signature art style... he was in a lose-lose situation.

Unaware in the City is the biggest competitor to Pizza Hot, but that game never had a good artist, which is why it has a ton of content, exploration, RPG elements, and total freedom; however, visually, it looks mediocre and nothing special.



The dev complains that the artist couldn't get the pussy or the tits right... Perhaps it's because he's the artist and you didn't communicate your requirements correctly? Just asking someone to “draw me a 2D pussy” isn't enough from an artistic standpoint.

He makes it sound like his “supervising” was more stressful than making the art itself, while also hearing the childish tantrums of a 50-year-old porn developer from the other side of the world.

Pitty that Naikal seems to have other things to do than lewd games.
I would play another game with his art. Pitty he didn't get to work with someone at least a bit normal.

Now he plans to replace it all with AI after he got done saying on his discord (before I got kicked for talking shit about his game on F95 - after he said to talk shit about his game on F95!) that he has enough of Naikal's art pieces to last for years of updates (I mean I guess if he only does one update in six years...).

God what a fucking snake. I can't regret paying this hack enough.

I sorta get it why the artist left, but i get the creator stance also - its cause development is slow (he is just one guy and over 40+ years old) the artist gets payed each month for barely the fraction of the work since the programing pace dont match up. so i get it. artist sits back, gets payed, while the Dev loses subs cause some feel its going to slow, so he needs to make up for it, i believe he wanted to lower his pay but the artist disagreed so he left. at least he didnt fire him outright.

Also I understand he is in a bad place, on one hand he wants to do the pizza restaurant revamp but he might lose some of his patreons, or he plays it safe and just do incremental updates to apease his benefactors.

Either way personaly i didnt invest so i have no place to dictate how he makes his game.
Just be gratefull somone makes a game like this, havnt seen any other like it, beside that crappy lookalike game wich name i already forgot XD

You got most of the cornerstones correct.
What you slightly missed, is the constant unpleasent undertone with the dev's behaviour and actions.

The artis f.e.
As far as I know, they didn't just disagreed, like normal people do.
They made a contract and the artist got a monthly share from the revenue.
So the dev didn't just had to pay him regularly.
He gave him a percentage.

Unless the dev decided, that this way of paying is no longer in his own favor.
He demanded the artist to accept a pay cut.
And as they could not agree on new terms, he simply did fire him.
Maybe not outright, but still a quite disgusting way to part ways.

So, most of us don't critizise or flame the game because it lacks content,
and not even on his slow pacing in programming.

But just because he's a person without manners.
Can't ask us to be gratefull to someone like that,
while he's one of the most ungratefull persons in return.

Yeah, but as I player, I don't care. He's a solo dev, because nobody can't stand working with him, or for any other reason, it's not my problem. One post he's saying Naikal is so great, he keeps drawing and drawing and drawing, I can't keep up with him. Another post, poor guy couldn't draw simple pussy. I got rid of him. "At least he didn't fire him outright"? Why? Would that be worse? Naikal would at least be spared listening to more bullcrap. He's clearly better off. It's the dev who can't produce anything since then. Also, again, I don't care.

I'm sorry, but I'm not so "understanding". He knows very well that all the people want is a bit more lewd content than somebody bursting their nut over her back. Nobody wants pizza restaurant revamp. And NOBODY wants to listen to more 5 years about him being un/able to revamp it.

I also didn't invest money but I did invest my time. Shoud I be grateful to him that he made a game with super great art and super unsatisfying content? And also, he is not making it. He stopped years ago. If there would be an update it would be uploaded here. It's just his words that keep coming, now. And, even those don't come to us here. Someone keeps re-posting them here, I said once already they should not bother. If Abelius wants to say something to us, he needs to come to this site. Things are not always what they seem and if he thinks people on f95 are can't do anything good for game devs OR that their patreons will always save them he's wrong in both.

He's just realizing he absolutely forgot about the pizza place lol. It is the main selling point... together with the ART.

Sometimes I kind of want to be more sympathetic with the guy, but then he calls this site out, fire his artist because "he could not draw a vagina", which I call bullshit on by the way, then he acts like an ass most of the time and whenever anyone points out the flaws in the game.

I understand he's a solo dev, but The Killing Antidote is made by a team of 3 people I think (don't know if they are bigger now) and that game is surprisingly good, it has actual proper gameplay that can be enjoyed, looks great, offers enough content and even has mod support. It doesn't feel like some asset flip slop. Also Chapter 2 is out even!

The thing is that Abelius cannot focus at all, he's all over the place with content and he forgot THIS an erotic game, and as far as content goes... he's BARELY "making" it. He says he fixes things but the game is buggier than before. There are areas which have NOTHING and unfinished content is everywhere.

Now... next summer (assuming he makes it) he will get a revamped minigame, maybe, but most likely no sex scenes or simply the same scenes looking different. Then he will go on about how he should just change everything and then take a decade to reach the amount of content the game has right now, and by that time his code will be old and messy again and then he repeats.

FINISH THE GAME! At least finish something in it. It's been fucking years, you've had the time!

I don't see this game getting back up. He might have just lost his passion for this and doesn't want to say because money. Frankly, the most fun you can get out of it is this thread
