Well, unfortunately, we don't have many decent developers, and I would understand if the price were equal to the quality, and many people don't want to pay for an erotic game that doesn't have eroticism.

His supporters are also submissive and clueless; they're never critical and don't demand anything from the dev, and keep reinforcing the idea that he “takes his time” and “takes it slow” because it's a slowburn game, and they've been repeating the same line for the past half a decade. At what point do they self-reflect and come to the realization that they have digital Stockholm syndrome or love being paypiggies?
Since the game has no direction anymore, Abelius is throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. He added the massage events, but I don't think they generated much hype. He added the beach location, but that didn't generate much hype either. With v0.16, there are three events... that even he knows he couldn't get away with it, so he's making a Christmas update purely out of his generosity to ensure his supporters don't feel completely ripped off.
As for the love interest, you're correct, the FMC will have a canon relationship with the nice guy at the pizza restaurant, the one with the bitchy girlfriend, Sophie. It's nearly impossible to imagine when that will happen, though, given the pace of this game's development.

Well, the way he communicates... I'm sorry, but to write it straight in the game, like do you want to skip to the destination, there ware no events anyways, or "future version", or this:

So, this is just a me thing, but the opening of this game is way too long to not allow saves. You have multiple conversations and scene shifts and the entire time you cant save. Meaning if you are already at the restaurant but need to shut down your PC for an update, TOO BAD, start over. Weird choice to not allow saves for the entire lengthy thing.

Well, I don't like the sound of that, so hopefully in those 12 years while this comes into development, the dev realizes that I want freedom to choose, which relationship will be "canon" for me. And I definitely won't pick a guy at the pizza restaurant, I already decided to completely skip pizza restaurant. Let alone with bitchy gf. That is not my thing. Why can't I decide that my "canon" relationship is with Toby the big dick? Who's to tell me? Or with one of the bus guys? With one of the beach guys? With the bus driver
No, that one is bald... But will still prefer him as MY choice. I don't like when they decide for me. That pisses me off. In those 12 years, Abelius better prepares a route for all them guys.
