Veynatus tagging the dev because it involves a nasty softlock
Now I'm gonna post here because I suspect I have broken something and I haven't been able to confirm it by reading this thread, so here's my set of things that kind of don't feel right to me and I hope someone will confirm or deny them.
- (MYSTERY SOLVED) I have reached the current end of Security, and the current end of the Backrooms route, and I still have never seen the spider, Skyla I assume is her name, now the place where I'd guess she'd be is in the dark loading dock accessible from the arcade, since it's pretty dark and it holds the labs key so a little chase on the way out would feel appropriate, the thing is, I took the keys and left, nothing happened.
NOTE: Turns out she's in the underground accessible from the docks, I just completely missed that passage every time I was there.
- (MYSTERY SOLVED) There's also a walkway in the pits that can't be lowered with an unlocked door at the end, for now I'll assume that's intentional and not a bug
NOTE: It's just an exit from the underground, completely normal
- (MYSTERY SOLVED) Ruby's door is clearly unlockable with a key, but there doesn't seem to be a way to obtain it, given Bonbon and Angie's clues I've thrown plenty of chairs at her to no avail, I am guessing calming her down is still not implemented.
NOTE: as can be seen in the two posts below, Ruby can be found working under the pink car in the Raceway
- Also, when I crouch directly in front of the collectible shelves in security I get a fairly strong reaction from the item detector, I'm guessing it's a bug.
- Two things for the Backrooms - Old complex part:
- (MYSTERY SOLVED) one, I get a reaction from the item detector right in the entrance of the old complex, right next to the door to the backrooms, but I can't find anything
- [SOFT LOCK] two: you know that door that gets locked requiring a ??? to prevent backtracking through the old arcade with the ballpit? well, it does prevent backtracking, but it also soft locks the player, because the portal to the backrooms can be activated as many times as desired (now, the fix cannot be to only make the portal activate once, because the portal resets every time the playground is loaded, so making the portal activation a one time thing just creates another issue in which the player activates the portal and leaves the playground without falling through the ballpit, now the backrooms would be inaccessible forever), now, I went back because I was getting that item detector reaction, and because I wanted to check for that softlock, so I guess I was kind of prepared for it, but still, it's a particularly ugly softlock because it ruins the whole save, as the reset option just sends you back to the start of the old complex, from which you can't go back, or advance.
PS: going back to the backrooms causes Synthara to re-spawn there and start following the player again, except I wasn't expecting it, so when I turned around and saw her I almost shat my pants, well done.
NOTE FOR LINUX USERS: If you are having trouble using the password generator in the backstage offices and the boxes above the expected password are empty... that's because they shouldn't be, the minigame consists of a random numeric value being displayed on the boxes one at a time, you select the value when it hits the right one from left to right.
I used my usual quick fix for misbehaving Unity games, open winetricks and install vcrun2010 to vcrun2022 and allfonts just to be sure, that did the trick (I'm pretty sure allfonts did nothing and it was all vcrun, so try the first part first)
