I think I just unticked "Check for Updates on startup", that fixes the issue of the long error code as I have been using the other addon since. I use this just for the Metadata portion I guess.

Yeah, it was mentioned before that unchecking it fixes the problem for those who don't use the update checker. But I do, so, it was a major deal breaker for me.

Hello everyone!
Looks like some things broke while I was away at college! I'll look into the reported issues in the coming weeks when I have free time. However, to answer some asked questions:
- No, it is not possible to change the browser used. PlayNite uses the Windows WebView framework, which is locked to Microsoft Edge for compatibility reasons on Microsoft's end.
- I can add the release date to the metadata relatively easily, so this will be worked on after ensuring the extension works well.
- It's tough to work with Playnite for this extension in particular because Playnite isn't designed to bypass anti-bot mechanisms; they'd rather take a passive approach and simply discourage plugins from scraping such sites altogether in favor of the website owners.
Please keep in mind I am a full-time college student, and this was a passion project developed while I was on break. My time is limited, and updates may be slow. I apologize for this.
