No, definitely not. The average ten year old cannot draw palette-limited, 64x64 hardware legal sprites of any kind, much less what we've got here. There's definitely a high variance of quality and it's certainly not up to the same quality that the professionals at GameFreak were doing back in the last generation where they actually cared about the games, but it's certainly better than I expected given the limitations involved. I'd say you need to reassess your knowledge of the average ten year old, but given the site we're arguing on that's best avoided.

There are definitely some sprites that are pretty bad, and I shared nincada as a good example of those. But If the best you've got in your claims that this is AI is making literally the same complaints that people make about abstract art, you probably can't actually recognize AI art.
