[POLL] Which gender of main character, do you like the most in games? Female or Male?

I want to start creating a game, but before i'll start thinking about plot, i'd like to ask You about Your prefernces of main character

I'm gonna answer "doesn't matter", but just because of (personally speaking) the whole ordeal of the "naming MC".
- If it's male personally it's a plus but if not, then at least a reasonable name and not something completely... unbelievable xD
- If it's female, personally I don't care. I'm not one of those lads, but when it comes to them I just want to watch the h-scenes and that's it. Yep, even if the name is horrible xD
So yeah, when it comes to h and such I really don't mind which one is the protag.


But as always, depends on what you want to do firstly. Sure you have already an idea in mind or a "sketch" in which you can rely on. If your plot concern (and was designed) a male, then a male. If a female then a female. If you're making something that have both of them (like two route in which you can choose to play first the male, then the female) both, I guess, but that would double the work xD

You don't really need a poll for that. The obvious outcome is a male character. I personaly think it doesn't matter though if the story is good.

I massively prefer female MC's, but unless you're at a complete deadlock, then I'd suggest going for whoever you're most comfortable with, or whatever you have better ideas for. I find that when I write about stuff outside my interests, it's just not as good as the stuff I am interested in. YMMV depending on what you're doing though; You may be more-or-less affected by the type of game you want to make (e.g. sprite-sex platformer vs a text-only HTML game) and what your preferences are.

I play both but female MCs tend to be more interesting, because they usually aren't just written as a lame blank slate with a big dick or as an annoying douchebag who still magically gets all the girls.

I personally prefer male MCs simply because i feel like i can get into their head more and put myself into their shoes whereas when i play a game as a female MC i find myself kind of rushing through trying to get to the juicy bits simply because i cant really make myself think "This is me what would i do in this situation"

I don't play Games with a Female MC. The point for me in these Games is to immerse myself into a Story and I can't do that with a Female. I also can't really play Female Characters in other RPGs.

I'm male and I like male MCs the best.
I'm not that turned on by lesbian content and I'm not very interested in different male partners for any female mc either.
Male characters with a variety of female and male partners in different situations is whats interests me.

I am male and i prefer male if i can be dominating one. Not at all interested in males as partners or playing as submissive male. Sometimes i enjoy playing as female characters, but i am not interested in consensual submission. I would like a game where main character is female and if i choose "struggle" options, it leads to non-con sex/submission.

Altough non-con and sometimes even dark stuff is what i like, sometimes games with good story or characters make me play porn games like i play most games most of the time, aka i choose "knight in shining armor" options.

It all depends on the game. Porn games are by nature far more selective than games in general, i just can't roleplay as gay men in porn games. It can be turn off and if i can't choose differently, can be enough to stop me from playing the game. Its different in other games, for example i don't like zombies at all, but husks in Mass Effect still don't stop me from playing the game. I can just shoot them, but in porn games shooting as gay character at male subjects is something quite different...

So game can be really good and have lots of good stuff in it, but if it does not fit my niche, i just might not play it at all. It also works other way around to a point, i play games that have what sexual content i enjoy even though some of them are not good games. I still have standards though.


Retreat is good example of game that i wish i could enjoy, but it just has way too much sausages (and yes, i played through more than just the very beginning). And generally i would like to be one who is dominating instead of being dominated. If i could play as female character, it would not bother me as much. If i play as female character, i would prefer people who dominate her also be female, even though i am not interested in dominatrixes unless i could play as dominatrix.

Propably what i like the least is playing as sissy. I don't mind gender transformation if it includes being transformed physically into female and not just dressing and acting like one or growing boobs but still having dick.

I generally don't care as long as the story is good. However, I can't stand games where you have to lose in order to see the smut, which is the majority of HRPGs with female protagonists I've played. Therefore, if pressed, I'd pick a male protagonist because I don't have to intentionally suck at playing a game in order to see the smut.

A female MC is a huge turn off for me. I usually avoid games with 'female protagonist' tag

I generally skip female mc adult games, granted that is because the vast majority of them are in the vein of 'shy virgin becomes the town whore' or 'hapless heroine is repeatedly raped', or some combination of the two. A decent plot and good writing could make all the difference.

For me male MC with many different OPTIONS. But the same counts for a female one. Not the usual school full of horny bimbos or family of sluts around you, but "real" girls and guys, young and old, easy or hard to develop different relations with you; to go throw different situations. This makes an interesting game and give everybody chance to try something new... Maybe somebody will read this? )

Female, because I prefer lesbian porn and that does not include MMF threesomes and performances for male characters.

I'm not an immersive player when it comes to porn games, so a character of my own gender doesn't offer any benefits to me either. Every male character involved in sex scenes is one too many, protagonist or NPC alike.

One of the resident lasses but also lesbo so prefer female protag with lesbo tendencies.

It takes an amazing game to get me to play male protag. If the story or the girls don't take my interest I delete and move on.

I do tend to avoid games with young male protags because they tend to be annoying or end up in games where they look like pathetic twats. All that shower spying and sleep rape, it doesn't paint the college aged male protags in a very good light for me.

It works out better if there is a choice of protag like Bad Memories and Heavy Five is adding a female protag down the line.

In games that offer the choice and in which the choice doesn't really affect the gameplay, like Fenoxo's games and Lilith's Throne, I usually make a male character. On the flip side, it's rare that I even download a game that's fixed to a male perspective.

It depends on the story and also how it's implemented.
Bad Memories has both and it works really well whether you play as male or female.
