My game opened at first, but now just goes to a black screen and flashes then closes. Any way to fix it? Older versions like 0.82 and 0.84 will run but not 0.9. It happened on 0.9dev1_6 and I have since tried 0.9h and still nothing... I was adding mods when it stopped working if that helps. Thanks!

Fixed it myself. Looks like an event that I added from a mod prevented it from starting

Tried 9h. Dunno if they're bugged or not but work order don't appear at low rep (1 star) can't even open the tab. I know reputation and work orders both are getting changes but as it stands, game is still unplayable for me. Without work orders there is no way to reasonably advance through the game, without massively cheating everything at least. Then again, mechanics changed so maybe I'm doing something wrong...

So I was doing something wrong. Good shit. I normally just ignore porn entirely until I get some good models on my roster, then push em into porn after they're famous. But if I need to do some photoshoots first I'll push a few girls straight into porn. Was it always that way? I swear I remember work orders being immediately available but I smoke a lot and my memory isn't the best...

no, work orders were locked behind rep level 1, but this is obviously impossible now since it takes a while to reach taht point.
so i just made it so you have to do few pornscenes.
which honestly is again a mistake, coz of players like you or those who aim straight for camshows. i'll change it for the next update to some other thing.

I really wish there was some warning that the Beauty Center questline will take $30k from you and stick a $5k monthly cost on you without your consent

I'd been relying on quicksaving and didn't realize this was the case. Guess I gotta roll back to whenever it last autosaved...

My edit button broke. I was going to add that the Hide Agency Model button has some anomalous behavior. When you exit the office and come back, occasionally the Agency Models will show back up in the listings despite the button still being ticked.
In order to hide them again you have to toggle the button off and on again.

Edit: I've investigated the weird agency model listing behavior. I think it has something to do with enabling 'living here' under residences.
If you turn on hide agency models, and then turn on 'living here'. The agency models will magically reappear in your list, despite Hide Agency models still being enabled.

I finally got the work orders open and I was hoping that would make it so that I could get rep faster... It didn't. Just my personal opinion, but with the changes to rep I think you should bump the contract requirement down from 2 stars to 1. It's hard, but not unreasonably so, to get 1 star in good time. Getting 2 seems to be impossible because you can't put models on contracts, so either they'll get poached once they start getting fame or if they're loyal/adventurous they hardly every work because they're unavailable over half the time. So even if a model sticks with you, they're madly inefficient early on. It's basically impossible to have them work enough and have a staff to support their workload. This includes the special characters too. My suggestion, unlock contracts at 1 star and let relationship level and/or charisma be modifiers on if a model will accept it or not. (Outside of the money, obviously. Heh)

Edit: After playing this version for a bit I've got to say that it's legit unenjoyable for me atm. Rep is obscenely hard to get at any level. Then free agent models will only sign with you if you have a certain amount of rep. Why? Bitch you better take my money! :LUL: Seriously though, I don't see the point in locking the pornstars behind a 5 rep wall because by the time you get 5 rep, assuming you're not cheating, why would you want those thoroughly used holes?

By the time you get to 5 stars you could've build a whole damn roster of loyal bad bitches better than all the pre built pornstar models. I could see if a 5 rep company could buyout models out of contracts or something, but you should at least let me shoot my shot at any level if you're free. I mean bitch you ain't got no job! How are you gonna be picky and you ain't got no job! :LUL: Don't wanna work for me now? Ok! I'm going to buyout/run every other company out of business and when I'm the only game in town, I'ma leave you out on the street selling coochie with the hoes!

The most annoying change tho is the staff "I'm tired of this job so I'm just going to quit" syndrome. I'm overpaying people, giving them plenty of time off, but their happiness still tanks because of tenure so they quit a job that they love because they've been there too long? Who actually does that? If you have a job that you like, the pay is good, the boss is good, the coworkers are good, the hours are good; you're gonna quit because you've been there too long? And by too long I mean a few months? Who? Nobody in their right mind is quitting that job. Why can't we just have staff, treat em good, and they stay happy. I get models retiring but these mf'n staffers be quitting like jobs just guaranteed out here in these streets... which for them I suppose they are. But I need these employees to understand what a recession is and learn how to appreciate their gotdamn jobs! Lol.

Honestly, it feels like a lot of the changes you made are just to frustrate the hell out of the player. I know what's not the case, probably, but that's how it plays out. At least to me, because shit is frustrating... I just gave somebody a 2k raise, 10k total salary. That hoe quit the next day. :LUL:

It is quite strange because most of the problem you have with the updates are things i quite like. Reputation being a bit harder to reach is ok, and the fact you can check it and work for it on the reputation tab is really a good thing.
Top models that refuse contract seems legit and logic : you do not sign riley reid as a nobody after 5 month.
Camshow rework feels pretty good too : it is way more clear i think, but some special girl are really overpowered early on.

The staff getting tired is ... ok ? I'm not quite sure yet. It seems way too fast, but it also force you not to keep your positive director forever (that was pretty much the goal of last updates : to find multiples directors with positive trait to keep everything running easily forever).
Do staff members get more easily "tired" when you negociate a cheap salary early on ? If yes then the mechanic is ok, if not then it should be the case i think.
But i arrive at one of the problem of this update : between work contracts targeted at places (south asia etc) being really good and staff rotation, i spend 90% of the game at the airport talking to random girl i feel like. After some month the fact that you can get 15k+ because there are 3 work contracts for an middle east girl on the same week seems like the best way to play is to spam airport encounter, get tons of models waiting for casting, then recruit the one needed for this week by overpaying her just for 1 scene. And if you find some girl being positive, you just try to recruit her as a director because you will need one anyway in the next 2 or 3 month. Maybe work contract asking for a special origins need to appear later on ? I don't know.

As always great work, always fun to play for hours, many thanks !

If whatever company RR was contracted with dropped her, and I came to her with 200K contract with 100k on hand. She ain't turning that down bro. I get conceptually that a big name star isn't going to work for a smaller/unknown company, but you ain't got no job and somebody is offering you equal or more what you were making to do the same shit you were just doing. You're considering that fucking offer. At least I am.

I'm not going to debate what's right or wrong, good or bad. I just gave my opinion but it's all subjective. I enjoy the game, this update though, not so much.

I hope the mechanic shall be easy to a starter but hard to be a expert. The new rep system is sometimes, confusing. So I just use the cheat end the game in several hours instead of weeks.

There's definitely an intended way of playing the game at the start. And if you stray from that on ramp, the game gets real unplayably tough real fast.

I find the sure fire way to get started in this current build is to hire street hookers for as cheap as possible at the start and just spam out a bunch of scenes. (it takes about 5+ to get contracts to show up.)

Then save some money and start focusing on the GeoAnon contracts, which will require you to fly to other parts of the world and look for talent there. Luckily the talent you hunt for there are 'disposable' and only needed for one scene, so you can promise them the moon. (offer them promises of contracts, fame, free spa visits, etc)

Doing that route gets you pretty financially stable by month 2. With enough liquidity to invest in top tier camera/lights and upgrading your offices etc.

Also, the sanctions for "aggressive marketing" are insane. You can literally be out here minding your own damn business, never once having used your PA to mess with another company, but other companies will sanction the everliving shit out of you just for marketing your business and the player has no recourse? How am I supposed to get a foothold in the business if when I try, the companies that are already running shit stomp the fuck out of me when I try and move up? Why are you trying to make things so hard on the player? Why are you trying to balance everything against everything else? This isn't an MMO. Cam shows don't have to be balanced against, photo studios don't have to be balanced against strip club, etc. The way the game is setup it's like you're forcing people to play a certain way.

If I want to run a photo studio company. Let me.
If I want to run cam shows. Let me.
If I want to do porn. Let me.
If I want to be a strip club magnate. Let me.
If I want to run a night club. Let me.
If I want to dabble in a little bit of everything. Let me.

You give the player all these options but punish them for using them. Why? Just make sure the jobs work and let people do what they want. So what if cam shows, or whatever, make more than strip clubs, or whatever else. Can strip clubs be a viable means of making money? Yes? Cool, stop complaining about what makes what and enjoy the game. Play how you want. Run the business you want to run. Rinse and repeat for everything else.

1703801268765.png
Like, come on man, those sanctions are absurd! That's like Google bullying a local news website. Ain't shit I can do about that. I'm just supposed to stop marketing altogether? Like I really don't get why you're so intent on making things so difficult for the player.

Hidden cams require you to have high stats and a pool built in order to avoid the inevitable consequences. Which you won't have at game start unless you are using cheats. Which I try and avoid doing.

Ideally speaking, the game is intended to be played without cheats. Admittedly, I almost feel like atm the game is balanced around the assumption that the player is cheating.
