Some amazing advice there. Thank you.

One question; how do you get around the popularity penalty with so many shoots in such a short time? Do you just ignore it completely and soak up the losses with the reward money from special scenes? I am having a very hard time making enough money when limited to only 1 shoot a week, but the profits drop off super fast due to the timer if I do more than that.

I don't know if RNG hates me or something's different in 0.91, but with the exception of Ananya the story girls are refusing to show up and complete their stories; Jenny, Maya, Kimberly haven't appeared for almost two weeks and Alice has shown up only once. And this is pretty just me continually going around town burning time trying to get them to spawn so basically just wasting time. Ananya's the only one that seems to spawn very regularly; I had her hired by week two.
I don't know how it works in v0.91, but in v0.90 a special mechanic was implemented so that only one girl could spawn per day (though one of them was bugged and ignored that condition). Perhaps that's the issue - you spawn Ananya, and then you can't get anyone else until midnight. Also, all three of them have specific time requirements - you might be checking the places at the wrong time.

Tomorrow I'll check v0.91 decompiled source code to see if that's still the case.

I also recall previously I had a lot of problems progressing with accounting lady's event chain. Maybe it was supposed to be slow but after like a year in game she'd shown up like two or three times, which certainly feels like it wasn't working at intended.
Whether she spawns or not is based on your money (in the bank only, I believe, but could be bank and on hand combined). That's why she's slow to progress with - you actually need to progress in the game.

I suppose it's a bit late right after an update drop but it'd be nice if in general the story people had a higher spawn chance, or else a stat threshold at which they're guaranteed to spawn.
They used to have something like 30% chance to spawn every time you entered appropriate location, it's not that low.

Get 12 hookers as soon as you can, 1 scene per day, 6 days a week, 2 weeks worth. The easiest way of getting around the popularity penaly is not wait till it ends. The penalty effects how many people watch the scene which will make it har for you to complete scenes if you keep running few girls

I don't think I understand. I am locked into doing the scenes myself, until I buy a studio, so no matter how many different girls I use, my own character's penalty keeps stacking. Do I just ignore it?

I haven't had issues with the popularity penalty yet. When I need to get a new scene and I don't have any models currently available, I head out and recruit a new one. And my MC doesn't seem to be affected by the popularity penalty, although maybe that's something that's for all male characters.

Wait, that penalty is only for women? Holy cow, I didn't realize I was playing on uber difficulty challenge mode :D

Thanks for clearing it up for me. I question the design choice, but I appreciate your help in making me understand how things work.

think of it this way, when you watch porn, do you see the guy or just a dick going into the girl? i think most men wouldnt realize if the guy was the same across many videos now a days

Oh I can absolutely see it from a realism standpoint. As a gameplay element it's pretty crippling though. It's an odd choice to allow the player to create a woman as main character and then penalize them this heavily for doing so. Especially since the game gives no indication that it's intended as a challenge mode.

But it's their choice, I'm okay with that. I'll just have to figure out ways to play around it.

I havent played the female charcter in a few years now but from what i remember:
1) studio as soon as you can so you can make other scenes then yourself
2) BG scenes are not as profitable as your paying both models, but fortunately he has made males cheaper then they use to be
3) focus on contracts, even cheap contracts might cover the cost of the scene. Then the scene might say a negative number, but youve actaully made money on it.

4) but yes, spam out 2-3 videos a week of yourself i think would be best. The more famous you become the faster the penalty drops. Your not paying for solo videos, so the penalty isnt to bad. If you see a contract worth a lot you can complete though, you might want to let the penalty drop before doing so.

Those are some really good tips, and as far as I can tell they still hold up in this version. I'll mess around with it and find ways to make it work. Thanks for the help :)

focusing on your skills would be big as well. this will help your rating go up quick, which would help you where its almost irrelevant for males MC. after a scene, go to school and attend 2 classes, sleep. or go to gym and do 2 workouts then sleep. thats your Intellect and Fitness taken care of. your sex skill will go up as you make scenes, so your going to have to grind out charisma like the rest of us. But your stats and your fame will mean more money from your solo sessions.

you might want a Marketing person early, to boost your fame levels as well.

Now I kind of want to try a hardcore challenge mode with a female main character that refuses to do girl/girl scenes... That would either be a really interesting puzzle to solve, or the most infuriating experience ever. Or maybe both.

sounds not that much more challenging then just playing female to be honest. Male MCs already pay for GG scenes, youd just be doing the same. Your big challenge will be that your MC wont be able to be in as many scenes as a Male MC, so your going to have to pay more actors. Once your on contract though, your fine. You also have the benefit of being able to create your own personal website that will bring in tons of money after a year, where Males cant.

You might want to hold off on creating 'solo' or 'GG' websites till you see what the rivals left for you. their sanctions on top of you popularity penalty might be deadly early on

Interesting to read about the different playstyles. I currently am trying to see how far I can push it with early (4th March) Studios and spamming contracts. Let me just tell you: I like the new contracts.

A studio isnt required for contracts.
I really like the new photoshoot system. Always bothered me that id make $150k + on Sunday at 8:00, by transferring over staff and equipment from a studio, use the same 5 girls to shoot seven different scenes then put the staff and equipment back . meanwhile no time has passed.

Is there a way to make our own gameplay mods? I wanted to explore adding two options:

-A percentage chance of a condom failing during a scene (I know there is a similar mechanic for this but I'd like something with a little less player agency on controlling it).
-A chance that birth control might fail.

Does anybody know how Scene Quality is determined? I've seen the term a few times in work orders, but neither in Production nor in the Scene Details of a finished scene does it show up.

Also, does anybody know how model lvl is determined? I'd like to be able to guesstimate a character's model level before inviting them to a casting, so I don't waste as much time when I look for new models of a specific level.

For the model level, you can scroll to the right on the model list and it will have more information about them, including model level.
