Google offers porn and it puts a 18+ disclaimer...no one complains

If steam started selling adult games then the genere will grow soo much....even big devoleprs would start making potn games but no people are akward and prefer killing games to porn games

First off, no-one here really cares about your political crusades. And it's not a christian thing at all, usually parents don't want to expose their kids to adult material, whether they're muslim, ateists, catholic, buddist or jewish. Since it's a platform aimed at kids that use their parent's money, you care about what the parents want.

Second and VERY important point, it's important you understand this, google DOES NOT offer content, google is a company that has, between it's many services, a search engine, that SEARCHS the web, and gives results based on what you typed, google is in no way responsible for what you see once you click on that page, that's why liability is on the porn websites you enter, hence why they all ask you to "confirm" you're 18+.
In contrast to this, steam isn't directing you to the seller they are actively taking part in the negotiation, selling you the game and taking a cut, hence they're responsible for what they're selling.

Finally, if steam (again, a platform aimed for kids) would imply such a growth to the industry as you cluelessly guess, that means you're giving it exposure... to kids... Porn and kids don't mix

You can hide the porn content in your game .....its not that hard to understand.....You can sell a kitty game and then make users mode it into a bestialy kitten game...steam knows nothing of what you do with games you buy

All people will buy them from the modded content....Youtubers will make videos on them just like Pewdiepie did on houseparty.....You sell them as innocent visual novels or whatever SANDBOX moddable

You can buy skyrim on steam and mod it into a porn game....Skyrim still sells good on steam.....Why you cant do the same for your own visual novel....you make the base game innocent without incest or sex or whatever

as far as I have seem... there is an age restriction implemented on Steam. So there is a kind of curtain for the so called "adult Entertainment", and as I recall... there is a game called "House party" the is available on steam as well.... so that should set some issues straight...
as for the restrictions..... smart kids will always find a way around it... cause they can't be too good or way to many "casual adult gamers" won't be able to access that

Indeed all publishers need to stop beliving in rumors and start to make money on steam....This is the only way for our sector to grow and survive.....Patreon is not good enough to make games grow popular and you cant sell full games on it

Lol how is not the same thing....You amke your game a visual novel with dating or whatever....then on the net out of steam make XXX mods for it.....its normal for all games...Steam cant judge your game for how people choose to mod it

Truth is Patreon is a better place for funding a project than Steam is, because people pay to support the developer instead of paying for a product.

The XXX MOD will be easily accesible out of steam and all buyers will know it...Also steam sells games in early devolpment not even betas so its nothing new

Also no one cares if you mod a game.....Skyrim would be deleted already...People need to be smart and learn how to get under the rules becosue for what i know Adult content is almost banned on steam actual porn games not just asian visual novels

I think most people dont really believe it until they see it, me included. As seen by people in this thread that openly said Steam will NEVER have pornography on their platform, and by that I assume they meant games that dont need patches anymore. Guess time will tell.

And about the age gate thing, if its gonna be the same silly 18+ for everyone then I already dont like it. As if everyone (or nearly anyone) was so sheltered and didnt see anything sexual or pornographic (or even hardcore) until they were 18. Or whatever age for whatever country it might be, what also could play into it.

And what about countries outright banning porn, how would that work. So to have those kind of games to be found on the platform if browsing from South Korea for example, it would still need to be censored, or the market would be lost.

The ban on adult games was lifted recently, so no one really know what can cannot be posted there yet.
