The names in collection indicates the duos that will trigger a video. All cards with the link icon are linkable together but not all has scenes together.I tried the game since I love card games. While I like the idea I have a few problems with the game as of yet:
- There isn't a clear way to understand which cards can duo with which cards. I saw in collection that some porn stars have heart for other porn stars, maybe those are the ones they can duo with? That is a terrible way to do it. I don't want to have to remember the combinations. I can understand how existing scenes can block the duos but that's just not something I want to have to remember
- the limited playstyle of the game (at least at the start, not sure if it changes): You play one card, discard one. It doesn't really allow for too much thinking or strategy.
- the battle itself: You can only attack or defend depending on luck of the draw (if you or your opponent can finish the needed combo first). Sure you could consider if you go first you attack, if not you defend but that's just boring. There's no multiple fighting going on, so you can match cards against certain cards. Not sure how much the gameplay itself will change over time but if not, I won't be coming back to this.
I read in a previous post that developer hasn't played a card game in a while. Why are you developing a card game if that's not your genre? You should be very familiar with what cards game do well so you can get inspiration from that. I see a lot of potential, but alas, as it stands this game isn't for me. I won't leave a review as I only tried it for 30 minutes and I don't feel like that would be fair but I think the 2.5 stars is a correct star rating for the current state.
As for the gameplay, there may be some changes in the future but the core will remain. There are still strategic elements that might not be enough for die hard TCG fans but simplicity was a factor I wanted since I, personally, prefer an easy approach.
I haven't played in while indeed. I used to play IRL card games and played some indie games, but the big popular TCG video games didn't really catch my attention. I also don't have time and skills to create a complex game that I would probably not even like playing. So all in all, I appreciate your feedback and respect your rating if that's how you feel about it. We simply have different taste in games and that okay
