stuck on trying to get a 200 score on a Castalia date. I love this game so much. I have over 1000 hours but this might be what finally breaks me.

What does the "Friendship 50+: stay in contact" bit when firing mean? I haven't played in a few months so maybe I forgot but I don't remember that being a thing. Is it just a weirdly worded way of saying they'll add to my workforce numbers instead of just being removed outright?

I think it's exactly that, yeah.

Found a bug in version 28.0.2. (Yes, yes, outdated version, but I checked the changelogs and there's no mention of it having been fixed, nor did a series of searches of this thread get any results.)

BUG: When the Commander Boss clones a unit their stat growth modifiers are copied directly from the unit being copied. All well and good--it's necessary for cloned uniques with non-standard growth modifiers--but it appears genetic traits that improve those stat growth modifiers are then applied on-top of this. My first gen LavaSpider with the Strong genetic trait has a Str growth of 1.9. A first gen clone gets 2.2, a second gen clone gets 2.5. Maybe only the Strong genetic trait is affected, but I'd bet money that it's not a once-off and similar traits like Arcane, Resilient, etc., are similarly affected.

I bred a ton of lava/shadow girls with good traits from my starters and fused them to get lightning storm, most of the time 2 were enough. And then there was Aila to melee enemies who were too resistant.
For resistant enemy, you usually drop a bucket of water on them.

The reason you want that many Lightning storm is because the first Secret Boss has like 500 HP

However eventually in future play through I also prefer a Sacrifice/Matyr/Apocalypse Phoenix team with Robust/Manaspark/Reconstructing

Explanation:

Sacrifice/Matyr completely refill HP/Mana by causing one unit to die
Phoenix/Reconstructing never dies
Apocalypse deal X3 magic True Damage including yourself
Robust ensure Apocalypse doesn't nuke our own team
Manaspark ensure there will always be enough mana for at least one Sacrifice/Martyr

So it's a team that deal roughly 1000-3000 AOE true damage at the first turn, never die, never out of HP or Mana

Geez, and here I am thinking having fused my way to Energy Bomb and Lightning Strike that I was doing decently enough. I gotta say that's a really clever setup and I'll have to see about giving it a shot. I tend to use spirit teams so it shouldn't be too hard to make happen, just need a ton of Spirit Stabilizers.

Alright, first time playing it right, in "free play", i really need a guide. How can i "beat" a portal? i completed the exploration of the first one and some "azure ocean", but nothing special happened. Then, how do i get "LightningStorm", and finally. how hard are the final bosses?? i found some videos about the overseer but nothing more.

So, the final bosses, Evo (Evolution), Crea (Creation) or Druid are rather hard if playing solo, rather easy if playing with a lv 20 team that you know how to use.

World bosses are seriously hard, due to special terrain mechanics.
Hidden bosses are even harder either due to special mechanics (Immune to damage until X happens) or bloated stats and debuffs to your team.

Free play shouldn't be your first real playthrough. A short 15 or normal 30 day is probably balanced right. On the last day, a special portal opens with the final boss. If you've done quests and other things correctly, you could access other endings and bosses instead, but keep that for future runs. I might be wrong, but to even have a chance to get to those, you need to finish the game with each of the main 3 characters, since there's information that each of them gets that put together, can lead you to those extra endings.

As for Lightning Storm... someone else will need to tell you. I generally quite like fusing and breeding characters more for the achievement than play. I prefer having a team of Uniques/NPCs

- Free play is arguably harder.

- Beating Portal means completing X amount of fights and reveal X% of tiles on map. Claim rewards on Guild screen to confirm clear. If memory serves me, all but 2 milestones will be enough to mark as clear.

- Lightning Storm can be gained by Breeding/Fusing characters with Lightning Strke. Lymean/Mermaids have access to it. Otherwise Kitsune from world boss egg have it as innate.

- Yes.
