Hello my wonderful patrons, followers and newcomers,
to come straight to the point, I'm sorry! During the last couple of months I haven't been delivering updates or information about this project and there's no excuse for that. I'm not trying to justify this. You deserve getting new releases (especially you patrons) and the least I could have done is giving you proper updates on what's going on. So again: I'm sorry for letting you down and breaking my schedule and promises lately!
This is not an excuse, but in case you are interested in the backgrounds, here's a paragraph dedicated to them: A close family member had a stroke back in May and was knocked out for about one day before being found unconscious in his apartment. I can only imagine the hard fight he must have had since he still can't articulate himself. However: He woke up from his coma, he's getting better every day and it was heartwarming to see him recognizing me and all of his relatives despite all odds. It was a shock though to say the least. And it was a huge reminder for how much of a gift life is and how much we should enjoy it, since it could be over (or turned upside down) at any moment. Taking care of him of course took a lot of time from my schedule, but also I decided to dedicate my focus on two things: Spending time with my loved ones and working hard on building a good financial foundation in case anything like this would ever happen to me and somebody would have to take care of me. Working in sales, this is a very simple (yet not easy) thing to accomplish: Just work harder and smarter. Indeed I'm on a very good way and it feels rewarding to get there. Ironically I was much more successful the more I ignored Powered Stranger (or any side project) and focused on the tasks at hand. But of course I missed this project a lot and my mind kept coming back to working out new concepts and ideas on continuing the game.
I'm here now, and although I love working on Powered Stranger, it would be a lie to say I didn't also think a lot about quitting on this game... It's not profitable, it's not focused and it's not helping with any of my real life problems... But no matter how much sense it would make financially, I really don't want to. Creating Powered Stranger is just... fun! And it's much more fun than any other hobby I ever had! Yesterday I went through all my notes and future ideas and well... there's so much more story to tell and so many more girls to explore in the Strangerverse. Giving up on that feels just wrong. The least I want to do is give the Kat and Aisha timeline a proper ending. It will probably end up being much more than that though...
However, given my new situation and plans, there's no way I can keep up the release pattern of one huge update every month. I actually want to take it easy on this project and work on it whenever I can and want to. Most of all I want it to be good, I want the characters, story and animations to show how much I care and what I'm capable of. So... despite better knowledge, I'm sure going on with this and I'll invest just as much energy into quality control!
What to expect?
As mentioned, the development will be slowed down. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to deal with it, but I'll update you within a few days when clarity will arise. For now I want you to know that I already started updating parts of my patreon page accordingly. My next post will update you about these topics:
- THE RELEASE CYCLE: It sure won't be a monthly release. I'll probably go with an irregular schedule and stop giving specific dates but rather expected timeframes.
- THE ROADMAP: It will be pretty much the same contentwise, yet I think about adding the Aisha story before adding threesomes. Feedback will be very appreciated!
- THE POSTS AND UPDATES: Those will become much less than they used to be back in the days. I still want to deliver on that Ren'Py tutorial and Villain contest though.
- THE VERSION NUMBERS: Yep, we'll change these up as well. I'd like to work towards a v1.00 release which is somewhat "complete" with all Mighty Orphin girls and scenes and after that go for incremental update numbers that keep adding more content.
- THE TIER REWARDS: I honestly have no idea whether and how to change those. But I'll figure something out (please leave some feedback and ideas in the comments).
- THE COMMUNITY INTEGRATION: I have some ideas on how to include you guys better in the game development process, but also make sure to only work on ideas that I'd love to work on. I'll tell you what I mean with that in the next post.
- PROBABLY SOME MORE: Hehe, if my past is any indication, I'll come up with some more bullet points the second I publish this post. I'm looking forward to knowing what they are!
Before finishing with this extensive post, I'd like to share some appreciation: Thank you all for investing your time, energy and even your money in this project! I'm very happy to see many of you still supporting me which is just amazing! I've heard from some of you that you rather like to support the project and me personally and not just buy a new version of the game every month, and that's just so great of you! Thanks a lot for staying with me on this, thanks for not giving up and thanks for being awesome people in general!
I'm heading to bed now, but this time I won't let you wait too long before my next updates. I'm looking forward to this very much and I hope you're doing just the same. Have a wonderful time everybody and as always: May the power protect you!
