Yeah, I think they go overboard in most of their games. A degree of entitlement and cruelty belongs in the genre, but Selecta games commonly veer into torture porn.

Not at all. Or, well, no more dangerous than sticking a filter over them.
You're MASSIVELY limiting your audience by using filters. You're not the first one to make this mistake either, but the people who do either continue with unpopularity or change it up eventually so you may as well do it sooner rather than later.
Filters give you no copyright protection and to be honest, if your game becomes big enough for rights holders to start chasing you then you're already successful enough to not care and pivot.
People like games with real porn rather than cartoon or 3D modelling because of the realism of the images. Making them look LESS close to life is sort of negating the point of using them in the first place.
Use real images and WEBMs for animations. This will save you a boatload of trouble in the future and potentially increase the audience for your game.

Oh just to add - no offence but the completely black and white images make your game visually uninteresting to look at, makes the scenes all blend together as there's no colour change to signify new locations and the porn uninteresting to anybody who doesn't have a very specific "Take On Me video" fetish.

There are quite some HTML porn games that uses images of pornstars and some creators are on Patreon.
Remixing or altering porn images might be considered fair use in some courts, but if a company/photographer takes notice you'll probably get a cease and desist letter anyway. A Photoshop filter is probably going to do you no good. That said I think producers are mostly after websites that redistribute entire photosets, so you'll probably fly under the radar. It's still a risk, but when you get your project rolling you might be able to upgrade the artwork to something more original.
