No. Steam version is the "better" version the beta version just get the new stuff earlier but the Steam version has the vast majority of the bugs reported in the beta version stamped out (though there are still some) hence why it's called the stable version.So apparently the steam release is a worse version where it's tied behind a patreon pay wall? I bought it to support the dev how hard would it be to take the game from the updated model from here and update my steam copy? I can just copy and paste right?
Unless you're after steam achievements for whatever reason, you're over complicating things. If you're already playing the steam version, simply take your save file from that and play the beta version provided here. And once the stable version is updated, you can go back to playing the steam version though to be honest playing the game directly without the need for steam is slightly better performance wise.
