i got a little curious and poked around a bit in cheat engine. turns out, time remaining is just a counter of how many steps you took, and dying to something adds 20 more steps to the counter, not including the step it took to die. it's easy to use cheat engine to freeze the timer in order to figure the rooms out yourself if you want.

Having a time limit that encompasses ALL the levels is a really stupid move, might as well start from the very start every time you fuck up. And it's not like the game telegraphs where the enemies will be going/looking, so it's full of trial and error. Combine both of those and you have a mess not a lot of people will have the patience to play through.
Great game but I had to play in a gameboy color size screen because wouldn't let increase the size of the screen.

Feels like if the game had lives instead of a "time" limit it would accomplish the same task, and be less annoying and stressful

Where do I place the save for it to work. I'm using joiplay to run the game but everytime I complete a route, the game doesn't save and won't show the animation on gallery
If you suck at the game like me you can use this mod. Replace the .pkg file of the game with this one. It disables the guards detections.
