Big reason of course is that Triple A development is always, no exceptions, failure of management. Just purely for the fact that they have the standard practice of crunch, which is definitely a failure of project management.Haha, yeah exactly. But they barely are given time to make the game good. No doubt they arent given time to optimize it even if they could.
But yeah, most developers like myself probably doesnt know that it exists or how to do it xD
I remember i once tried for fun with a 3d game. It was over 2 gigs and i got it down to under a single one.
Edit. Sure you can blame the top for that mostly, but the project leads should definitely fight for more time and resources or scale back the projects to meet the given resources and time.
