Project SAGE - Act 1 v0.15b

Pros:

- Great writing
- Great story
- Great graphics, renders, and animations
- Interesting and unique characters
- Well polished game

Cons:

- The MC is supposed to be the perfect "barbie" female hottie. This is fine but her breasts are way too big for her frame (unless they are fake of course). I've seen a lot worse though so this isn't a big issue for me.
- My biggest gripe is the day by day system. This makes progression of everything extremely slow. I would have made each day take up a weeks time so progression could be a bit faster.
- Lots of nudity in Act 1 but the MC is still a virgin (which is fine) except she won't even give a handjob, blowjob, or titty fuck. Preparing herself for anal sex is fine but she won't even try other forms of non-vaginal sex?
- I'm not a fan of "instant slut" but I feel there should have been more possibilities of non-vaginal sex in Act 1.
- I think the author should make use of the character stats he added to the game.
- The game tends to "forget" about certain characters in the game. Some characters are very prominent for parts of the game and then they are nowhere to be seen for the rest. Examples: Two sons in the house the MC is staying in and the Grandpa. The two sons all but disappear during the last 33% of Act 1, even though the MC is living with them. Hopefully the Grandpa story will get sorted out in later releases.

Overall, I recommend the game and think players should give it a try!

This review is for the 0.15b version of Act 1 of Project Sage.

Pros:

• Fun, light, and engaging story
• Good characters whom you grow to love
• Beautiful MC
• Good graphics and renders
• Decent animations

Cons:

• Very little sex in the game currently! This game will leave you blue balled throughout the experience. There is lots of nudity and masturbation but only one legitimate sex scene (that isn't dream or fantasy sex, i.e. never really happened).
• I dislike games that have a huge scope such as this one. I wish the entire game was completed in the amount of content currently in 0.15b. Games with lots of acts take years and years to finish. Oftentimes games such as these get hurried to finish or abandoned because the author gets bored with the project and wants to move on to something new (because the scope of the game is too large).
• The story moves very slowly and there is a lot of unnecessary "fluff".
• Most visual novels play like reading a book or watching a movie. This VN is no exception. Calling most visual novels (including this one) a game is a stretch.
• Because the game is far from finished many branches and story paths lead nowhere.
• The "Grandpa" content in this version of the game makes no sense and is very confusing. The MC is doing all these crazy things for grandpa why? No trust has been built between the two. The Grandpa is introduced into the game, promises to do all these things and then is too busy to pay any attention to the MC throughout all of Act 1.
• Like all visual novels, too many choices are forced on the player.

Even will all the cons, I did find the game enjoyable. If you are here for the story it will probably be worthwhile. If you are here for the sex you need to look elsewhere!

I rate the game 3.5 stars out of 5. I can't give it more than 3 due to the countless sex opportunities missed in the story. I would have loved to give the teenagers at the beach (that protected me) a blowbang after they took me to the secret cove (one out of MANY examples of missed sex opportunities).

the main character is weirdly bland but also strangely likeable. There's nothing terribly special about this game in gameplay story or mechanics, but it's still one of my favorites on this site and every time there's an update I'm excited to download it immediately.

I have to give you some serious credit @paperwork

1. Animations: You do very good animations. Better than just about every game i've played. When I say this is has mostly to do with you working on making sure the body movements are as close to natural as possible or at least appear close.

2. Body Choreography: You take the time to pose and manipulate where everyone else cuts corners; Whether it's a finger, a hand, an arm, you really take the time to make sure it looks right. (except pillows, I can tell you don't want to put heads on pillows, lol)

3. Renders: Holy shit man, you take the time to render A LOT or there's a secret I don't understand as a player and not a dev. Your scenes aren't sparse and you fill them appropriately, without looking ridiculous. You showed time and care to place things. You put focus on clothing variety and actually use quite a bit and it all looks appropriate on the MC and other characters. You render the small things that everyone else, again, cuts corners on.

4. Decision Making/Dialogue: I ran quite a few of the choices and I have to admit, you actually reference some of it back in some cases later on, at other times. I ran quite a few save paths. In one i found myself not protecting the MC from every man out there, but still was playing a bit of a cockblock at times and another main path where I tried to make her a whore or give in to anything possible. Both play-throughs were enjoyable despite having very little sexual content (other than her masturbation scenes + initial blackmail scenes *kudos on the "be smart" choice btw, I ROFL'D like mad AS WELL AS how bad the dude felt when you give in to his demands*). While the plot wasn't deep, it was enjoyable and there was quite a bit of variety in it. it felt very slice of life and for a moment scifi when she gets sick. I love Chris and Matt's circle of friends. All of the variations of the scene at the end of the current content was hilarious. Everything from the breakdown of the movies (loved the references and topics, my own friends had similar conversations to them) to the truth or dare game, hahaha. Also, the little slipped in inside jokes about the adult gaming world.

I can really tell you love this and it's your baby. Are you really just one person doing all this work? If so, holy shit, I wish you'd join the Ecchi Sensei team because I think you'd help make that game even more amazing (it's my favorite, so take this comment with that in mind), but keep up the good work on your game. I will definitely keep watching for updates. I'm very glad i downloaded. Oh and fuck the haters on your model of the MC, I think she's hot. Yeah, she could be a little less lean (she's quite tall and looks stretched out, but I felt this was also what helped her look more like a model), but I love what you were going for and thank you for not just making yet another overly curvy thick girl. I love her attitude in the game too.

Update. hoped the author could pull his head out is ass for a minute and fix plot inconsistencies. He has good art work but seriously his dialogue and story are so fucked up if I could I would give him a negative rating.

a huge amount of story content for so early on. There seems to be a wide variety of options for how you want the protagonist to behave and a lot of romantic options. My only complaint would be that it occasionally feels like your character is the only woman in this universe, since you go days without interacting with any others. Integrating the other female characters into the story more would be a plus.

Probably one of the best VN games on this site.

Love it that you can actually avoid dumb dialogue choices. There are already so many other games out there where you have to play a stupid female MC that this one is *particularly* refreshing. Player still has the choice to go with bad decisions if desired.

The MC is cute, and one wants to watch over her. NPCs have believable and interesting personalities, reacting to player input and progression of the story. I especially like Matt, which isn't the kind of character that I usually fancy. Him caring about his sister, not actually raping her while she is sick and sleeping, deciding to man up and to fight against Hank, made him endearing to me. I almost regret now picking Hank and Chris over him, and want to play again to see if he's going to be just another NEET if the MC caves in too soon.

I also enjoyed the movie evening, where earlier choices came up in the thoughts flow of the MC, wondering if she acted like she did because she felt lonely.

Also, some great small touches here and there, like being able to name the plugs. I of course went with the suggestion of the MC to name them small=Matt, big=Chris (her love interest) ^.^

Speaking of the story, it's a bit too heavy on the shota side if you asked me. What is it with all those "18 physically years old 12 mentally years old" kids in game ? I realize that's a personal preference/dislike, but there are quite a lot of them *everywhere* and never fully exploited : on the beach, teaching, babysitting, at the clothes shop, etc. If they're just meant to be "side-stories", I wonder how they can "put in their weight" to the story (or even play out eventually) if the MC is already proceeding on a heavy romance path with the other main characters in the near future.

There are some unexplained holes in the story (for example, why hasn't the MC been busted out of college or her part-time jobs after being absent for several days because of sickness), but that's only a minor nitpicking for a H-game.

Finally, I don't mind the slow progression as long as I know there will be closure... one day. Actually, as noted above with the shotas, I fear that the game progresses too fast, not giving the player the time to explore all the options that are available in game. What about the teaching/cosplay sessions with the neighbour kid ? What about the modelling sessions with Lorenzo ? What about the maid-ing poker parties at the neighbour house ? What about summer school, Simon, Andre, the head-master ? What about meeting Andrew and crushing his impotent blackmailer balls ? What about the DJ ? What about fully exploring the sex-shop and taking advantage of the promotion for... ahem, leaving a glowing review of some of its articles ? What about Katie, Jose, Joe, Mr Chang, the Cops, not to mention all the possibilities with the family (the uncle, the grand-father, the (over-jealous?) aunt!) ?

I also fear that providing the player with such intimate and very naughty scenes as the Hank balcony date will leave whatever else may fallow as quite bland and unsavoury in comparison. The pacing and rationality of the story would just feel wrong if she had outstanding sex with her sweetheart one night, and the day after caved into some easy shota boob/skirt-prank.

The game has been so enjoyable so far that I actually don't want it to finish ^.^ It's such an exceptional game compared to others on this site that I hope we'll get to follow the MC in her adventures for a long while still. Really considering to support it, hopefully next month.

Note; It's very easy to get the scenes so far, and i really like the VN style tho i do feel like it's a bit too linear to my taste. I still enjoy the story.

Project Sage is a really great game !

The good :
The mc is hot and likeable.
The story is interesting.
The graphics are well made and pleasants.
The textual content/x-content ratio is well calibrated.
It is a reworked version. We can see the differences when we play the older version afterwards. The determination and experience of the dev paid off.

The bad :
This is subjective, but i think It would be nice to have the option to let the mc be more vulnerable to blackmail, especially in group scenes (which are way to uncommon in porn games, because it's not the most simple thing to create).

A very likable MC for whom you get a lot of choice over how the develop. They feel as if they have very realistic reactions to things, and their descent into pure erotica is wonderful to see as they explore themselves and what they are into.

A genuinely nice person too, and almost all of the cast are interesting in their own ways. People, rather than caricatures.

I actually stumbled upon this one while checking out the alpha of the 'last updates'. I am usually not the biggest fan of VNs in general as most of them are pretty rubbish and good ones are simply hard to find.

Imagine my surprise when i started to play and very quickly got hooked into it. This is one seldom piece where the female protagonist is not a simple minded sex crazy slut but a real girl.

The story unfolds mostly undisturbed by the player but when there are choices they are actually meaningful and one actually has the feeling to be in control of the protagonist. Since i usually dont play these to play each possible path i cannot rate the outcomes for different decisions but i can highly recommend to give this one a try as the variety and kind of choices leaves the player with some very decent control without the feeling to miss out if one had chosen differently.

This developer has obviously listened to what quality means and i expect more great things to come.

Anyways, this is your same old HS game with same graphics and same models a little thinner chin here a little bigger breasts there not much difference (maybe hair color is different ‍♂) story is apparently about a really horny girl who you will play as and knowing the community you horny little devils will go down the dark dark path.
Not much else really since abandoned.

Looks amazing! Much room for development, many possibilities. Lets see how the Creator uses it.
PC's boobs are shamelessly huge for her slender body and looks unnaturally Porn Star-ish. Smaller cups would offer an option of future enlargement as the wtory develops.

A game without the usual run around of "oh im a stupid virgin with no life experience in a new city and have to get groped and jizzed on for awhile to survive" Cliche. You play as an attractive girl that is contingent of her decisions and of what she does while also having the creepy blackmail troupe or cocky jerk guy who gets all the girls and wants this one to. Gives you enough content and sexual activities without just giving you all in all a very fun game even with honey select.

Love the game!
Story: The story is great, a bunch of different characters all trying to get at the MC from different angles. Each person is unique and has just enough attention put into them where I don't mind reading about them, but I'm not bored and waiting 45 minutes to get to the next scene.

Game Play: The gameplay is pretty normal for a Ren'Py game, but I really like the fact that I don't have to save after every choice and reload five times to see what happens with every option. I know I'm going to get something good no matter what I pick. People have made the comment that they want more choices, but I disagree. Choices take an extravagant amount of time to program in. I know it may not seem like it, but until you make a game... Well, I would rather have more content than more choices, and just because I make one wrong choice, now I don't want to miss out on something great later on.

Updates: Many games start out strong and pretty quickly die off. I don't see that happening here. Paperwork has been very active and supportive of the community and is pumping out the content. I think he is a developer deserving of our support.

the games contains a lot of content for this early versionnumber, the fetishs (skinny body and anal) are really welcome. the maincharakter is a young stupid girl with a big hath for the weak and poor. so she encounters a lot of silly but funny situations. if you really believe there must be a realitycheck in corruption porngames and the protagonists have to be realistic, this game is not for you, but i enyoy this kind of charakterdevelopment.

It has a lot of content for a relatively early release.You can see influences from various other games and it is a good thing because in my opinion it took the good sides of these games.If you enjoy a corruption game with naive main character give this one a chance.I bet you won't be disappointed.

I'm a big fan of the exhibitionism in this game and am impressed by the large amount of engaging content. Many games hype up the large amount of playing time but many times it's chaff - endless dialogue and repetitive scenes. In this game the content is all very erotic. As of the time of this writing it looks like Paperwork is working on building out multiple storylines, and I'm looking forward to them and to seeing the main character develop.

This girl is H-O-T, exactly the type I go for. Artwork in this game is great, story is interesting with some funny parts. The story/text is just right (unlike some games with way too much text). And there's a surprising amount of content for a 0.1 release! Can't wait for next update!
