Gameplay ★★☆
Typical RPG elements such as weapons, skills and armor upgrades are all present. Completionists will find themselves right at home here, and you will be greatly rewarded for both exploring and revisiting previous areas.
Certain mechanics felt a bit obscure at first and could've been explained more clearly. The translation holds well for the vast majority of the game but you will, on occasion, bump into untranslated or poorly translated bits - nothing that detracts from the story but something to keep in mind.
Combat ★★★
Fighting enemies feels snappy and satisying. The Field Mechanic adds an interesting twist to battles, and feels extremely rewarding to take advantage of in difficult battles.
Adjusting the party composition and their skills as you descend into hell is a blast. Certain weapons or attributes work better in certain places, and you'll have a good time building the ultimate team as you break into more difficult areas.
Story ★★★
By far where Pronant Symphony shines. Exploring the Pandemonium alongside the four sisters and observing their interactions is a precious experience. Perhaps by the end of it all, revenge won't be the only thing on your mind anymore.
Ero Content ★☆☆
The weakest part of the game, with the vast majority of the scenes locked behind the "evil" route. Unsurprising given the nature of the game but, while the art is great, the sounds also leave a lot to be desired. Players looking to play Pronant Symphony primarily for the adult content will be fairly disappointed.
Conclusion ★★★
Pronant Symphony is an amazing plot-driven journey. Starting as a simple revenge story, this game grows into something far beyond that - an epic and magical adventure involving self-discovery and... if you so choose, redemption.
If you're looking to fill the void left by games like Black Souls, Demons Roots or Monster Girl Quest, you've come to the right place.
