In addition the gameplay screenshots don't look like Tower Defense. Enemies moving in from the side and the player character on the other side throwing swords at them, looks more like a simplified side-scrolling shooter, or whatever that subgenre is called then.

One scene maybe - lose to the last boss, but the sprite gets hidden behind the menu quickly. Can only really see it when unlocked in the gallery. Though that's true for all the scenes, really.
