The dev redefined what the game was, and completed that. It's not abandoned, simply not continued past the end of the prologue. Abandoned games can be picked up again. This game can't (unless the artist releases his IP claim on the art).

There are a couple of paths. I'd say you will take 20 minutes on the start and maybe 15 minutes on each of the paths (the paths diverge when you decide whether to drink the potion). Say an hour, total.
