VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Queen Trainer [v1.05] [AKAMAN / AKABUR]

This game is getting mixed reviews so if you want my TLDR if YOU should play this game; I think yes, you should, but here are some caveats
Now that these points are out of the way, I'd like to focus the girls as that is a major draw to these games

• The Red Phoenix Brothel Girls: The three girls are Vivi (Wendy from Peter Pan), Magara (from Hercules) and Lily (an OC). Each of these girls have fleshed out stoylines with unique supporting characters. They are all superb characters and have the best sex scenes.
• The Side Characters: These mostly comprise of two girls; Hornelia and the Goddess of Harvest. Hornelia is a blonde teenage girl that you tutor from being a shy teenager to a whore, where as the Goddess is a haughty divine diety you trick into having sex with a mortal. I love them both, but they don't feel fully fleshed out. The Goddess deserves a CG and only has chibi art, where as Hornelia only has a CG and no chibi art
• Jasmine: Despite being the main girl of this game, Jasmine feels overshadowed by the above characters to me. Her story involves a series of events where the MC chooses how Jasmine should respond. These choices add up until at the end where one of four endings will happen (she either marries Alladin, you, Jafar or...), but if you don't like that ending, you can restart from scratch. The problem is, you can't see where your choices lead to until after two attempts and the options aren't stongly different from each other to know for certain if they go to the ending you want. As fo the sex scenes themselves...Akabar has done better with this character before
• The Blue Bull Girls: So this includes; Iris (an OC), Esmeralda (from Hunchback of Notredame) and Atamansha (OC) and for whatever reason, all these characters are undercooked. They have no extensive subplots and their conclusions come to an abrupt end (you don't even have sex with Iris and Esmeralda before marrying them). Esmarelda is the biggest disapointment as she doesn't look anything at all like her movie counterpart and that's saying something because you can't have sex with Atamansha. You can't even order drinks in the bar too, the whole thing feels unfinished

Closing Thoughts

I finished this game frustrated mostly at trying to finish all the achievements which had become glitched beyond completetion (though the main game never had any glitches that stopped me from progressing) and chasing Atamansha, which, was a waste of time. I think if Akabar chooses to expand this project like he did before he could have a better game on his hands. I'd like there to be more CGs, particularly for blowjobs, which there are none in the base game.

Some of the criticism I’ve seen—particularly regarding the $4.5k per month on Patreon and the game’s quality—feels uninformed. Honestly, I’m confident that someone as talented as Akabur could easily earn more freelancing as an artist. If anything, it’s clear he’s poured more passion into this project than focusing solely on profit.


Initially, the complaints I saw on various forummade me assume the game would be underwhelming. However, its small size convinced me to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did! The game is fantastic, and I absolutely love the characters, especially Iris, who’s now my favorite!


The storylines and dialogues are top-notch, keeping me thoroughly engaged. While I do think the game could benefit from more CGs or animations to elevate the experience further, it’s already an exceptional game as it stands.

Overall, a must-try for fans of the genre!

As a long-time Akabur fan and self-proclaimed man of culture, I’ve been following QT’s Monday development posts for years, eagerly anticipating what was to come.

My Thoughts on the Game:

1. Bugs in Early Versions: I’m completely fine with bugs in an early version—it’s expected at this stage of development.
2. CGs and Chibi Focus: I’m generally okay with the number of CGs and the emphasis on chibi art, similar to WT. Sure, more CGs would be ideal, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me.
3. Grinding: The grind is fine; I don’t mind it.

My Main Issues:
However, it just doesn’t feel like a trainer game. Instead, it feels like one of those modern sequels, remakes, or reboots that amplify certain aspects of the original but lose what made the original special. While Akabur’s trademark humor and dialogue are here, the game misses the mark in several critical ways:

1. Jasmine’s Character:
   • Jasmine shows her breasts to the merchant, masturbates in front of Jafar, and happily lets herself be groped by a random crowd—all within the first five minutes of gameplay. What?!
   • And then, her storyline restarts repeatedly, making her entire arc feel meaningless. It comes across like one of those generic, shallow “fuckfest” games often written by teenagers, rather than the nuanced storytelling I expected.
2. Main Heroine Corruption:
   • In a true trainer game, the main heroine starts as a strong character and gradually succumbs to corruption through meaningful progression.
   • Here, Jasmine is already corrupted from the start. There’s no gradual descent, no meaningful character development, and no variety of outfits—elements that defined Akabur’s earlier works.
   • While the humor is still here, the lack of a satisfying corruption arc kills the immersion.
3. Too Many Routes and Endings:
   • The game has too many routes and endings, requiring players to replay and repeat the same content over and over.
   • This spread-out content means that each individual branch feels underdeveloped. A single, meaningful storyline with minor branching (like in WT) would be far more satisfying.
4. Too Many Characters:
   • There are too many girls, resulting in each of them having insufficient content. It feels like quantity was prioritized over quality. Even main girls are too much. But, faceless text only girls are completely unnecessary.
5. City Exploration Content:
   • Most of the city exploration content feels unnecessary and doesn’t add much to the experience.
6. Side Activities:
   • Festivals, contests, and gardening could be great additions, but only if the core game content were rich and substantial. Right now, these feel like distractions from what’s lacking in the main storyline.
7. UI - no quest log, no girls and genie stats, large icons. UI sucks.

What Made Akabur’s Games Special:
While this is just my personal opinion, I (and others, as seen in some comments) believe that Akabur’s “golden formula” consists of:

• Humor: The humor is still here, which is great.
• Focus on One Main Heroine: A single, well-developed heroine allows for a deeper, more immersive story.
• Gradual Corruption: Watching a character change over time is a core element of the experience.
• One Storyline with Minor Branching: A streamlined story provides enough content, depth and immersion, comparing to multiple underdeveloped branches
• Variety of Sprites and Outfits: These add depth and customization, which are sorely missed in the current iteration.
• Heroine stats: visible stats make game much more immersive and make grind meaningful and satisfactory.

AKABUR is still the same. Same drawing, same universe, same humor.

Grind and a small amount of CG ruins everything a bit. But taking the similar concept, BABAKUR, could make a great dating sim.

I was surprised that KAKABUR made a whole game in one go. I would recommend it to anyone who has nothing to do or wants to kill time.

Overall, it's a pretty good game. It's classic Akubur—what else can I say? Some people might not like the grind or how most of the art is in chibi style, but I was engaged throughout the entire playthrough, enjoying both the writing and the art. Plus, it's a full game with none of the paypig baiting that many developers fall into, promising a complete game eventually if players keep donating indefinitely.

Small cons: There isn’t really an endgame method for making money. The most I was able to earn regularly was thirty gold per day, and passive income was less than ten gold per day, while many prices are in the hundreds. Also, it would be nice if there was a notification on screen when there was an event in the market after buying the calendar.

Big con: There are a noticeable number of bugs. While nothing game-breaking, they were definitely annoying. The biggest issues I encountered included some events resetting my money instead of rewarding it, a few dialogues causing errors or even crashes, an error after completing the main quest, and the shop dialogue prematurely ending when I tried to buy cake, which prevented me from accessing the birthday events.

Overall 4/5: Strong Recommend. Especially if the bugs are fixed.

It felt like I missed big part of the game or update... I can't believe that I've been waiting 3 years for this... 1095 days for a few chibi CG? I am very disappointed
This game has a very big potential but come on we have like 0 CG for "gamer girl", and like 1 CG for the girl we were tutoring...
We already saw some good games like witch trainer, star chanel and princess trainer BUT this game is just... bad, really bad

We've seen better from Akabur, but I burst in laughter quite a few times.

Bugs - 2/5
There's a bunch of missing assets causing script errors, several annoying errors that override values instead of adding, some achievements are unobtainable at the moment.

Art 3/5
Mostly chibi. There's a few quite hot CGs, but most of the playtime is without the sexy art you would want to see. A shame, really.

so, gave it a few hours and honestly it falls behind Princess Trainer by quite some. can't give half a star. i'd give it 3.5 then.
here the quick one for v 1.01:
the game is again very grindy basically because of the tiny initial income.
the Con: for me the lack of looking into stats, and no hint to possible achievements or 'mini challenges'; game has no quest log whatsoever, either, until you buy a expensive item (which you can't afford for a long time).
the fun is there in the text, had quite a few chuckles. the art is still the typical Akabur style, i do like that, also the chibis, no complaints. but PT feels like .. more worked out? more put into scenes and all the fine print? hard to grasp. what i've seen in QT is comparably much 'just text on background' where i expected at least some drawing like in his other games.
the major part of content looks to be not related to Jasmine, makes me wonder, i mean the title suggests it's about her.. should reflect in the story.
tl;dr game doesn't look finished. he could have done better.

My first feelings after a 2 hours of playing the game were love and hate. I couldn't resist and unpacked all the artwork in the game and after what I saw, I was a bit shocked. I realised that I had already seen almost 50% of all the scenes with the girls. The realisation that it had taken 3 years for everything I had seen made me despondent.

But the next day, there were still some very hot scenes left unopened, BUT... fucking grinding. The amount of grinding after playing 4 hours in 2 days discouraged me from finishing the game.

I really love Akabur’s game so I will try to be as nice as possible. It’s basically a text based game with a very disappointingly low number of CGs, the rest is chibi sprites. No corruption. And the humor has gone down the drain and became cliché, unfunny, incely. Like the worst normie internet humor from ten years ago.

I really like it, as all other akabur's games. nothing to add, five stars for sure. a bit strange it is marked as completed, still a lot of work to do.. Hope he will add new pictures \plots in future

Where to start, this game has a lot of baggage either from Akabur's own legacy in the Western Erotic Game market or the high expectations everyone had for this release, so the TL;DR is this: If you liked Vanilla 'Witch Trainer' you will maybe enjoy this as this sits on a very similar note. If you've never played any of Akabur's games or at least expect to get plenty of visuals/animations to go with your porn games you probably won't have a good time.
To me personally I quite enjoyed what I got out of it so it sits on a personal 4/5 rating (for me), but I can see plenty of people hating this so I'll try to be as objective as I can on my review,

★ ★ ★ Presentation ★ ★ ★
At a face value presentation is stellar as usual, there's a lot of thought put into making the game stand out by implementing random sounds, visual flares to the UI and whatnot. Two big problems that I have tho is that the UI has this sort of mobile feel to it, the icons and the text are too big for my huge monitor and the text box leaves almost no space to see the characters. Out of the 6 or so "romanceable" characters only Jasmine has a standing portrait and you can barely see her belly button, the rest go by with their chibi depictions and head shots while they talk. The other issue is the lack of a stat screen/journal to check where you are with everyone or anything in the game, there's plenty of grinding and random little systems that you have to build up and the only way to check this is by repeating whatever is that you are trying to do until you get it right.

★ ★ ★ Gameplay ★ ★ ★
This game is split in two parts, the main goal is to be Jasmine's advisor and to lead her to a path to become queen (hence the title), when you do your duties Jasmine comes up to you with a conundrum and you choose 1 out of 3 options, each option leads to a different path, you watch a vignette the next day, repeat until you get an ending, if you don't like the ending you can reset Jasmine's progress with an item. The second half of the game has most of the cast you interact with presented on a 4 season calendar daily system, the loop goes like this:

Walk around town until you unlock everything --> Advise Jasmine --> Earn money by doing random patrols/chores --> Increase culture by doing whores or random events -->Do chores for said whores --> Repeat until the game ends and you have your harem

Classic Akabur grind fare tbh, (you either hate it, love it or tolerate it) it is somewhat disjointed since Jasmine's content feels self contained for the most part as she doesn't interact with the rest of the cast

★ ★ ★ ★ Sound ★ ★ ★ ★
Music is unique, there are dozens of sound effects for added immersion and sex scenes have slapping sounds. Nothing to complain about this is great as usual for Akabur but it doesn't break the mold either

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visuals ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Fantastic, this is one of the key areas Akabur excels at. Dahr's work is very much appreciated too. However there are two points of contention here, there's not enough art and as usual Akabur puts heavy emphasis on the chibis (side lining traditional 2d art as a result). In general there's like a single base CG for each of the main girls and a couple of chibi style animations (Jasmine being the sole exception as she has at least a dozen vignettes showcasing her in raunchy circumstances), if you play these type of games for the hell of it there's plenty to appreciate but if you mainly use them as masturbatory aid you'll probably hate what it has to offer.

Dated video game references, early 2000's humor and comedy at the expense of women's issues. What's not to love?
There's a good amount of clever writing here, individually it's great but it has a very distinct dissonance with the overarching plot and individual storylines don't meld together very well. It sort of feels like Akabur had a bunch of ideas that he wanted to make but he didn't know how to go about doing it and the result we got was this.
Jasmine's part of the story is somewhat lame for my taste, the "good" route has you be a good advisor with nothing too explicit happening and it ends with her suddenly being in love with you and choosing you as her husband, the relationship goes from a boss/subordinate to husband and wife having public sex on their wedding day with no set up, events or anything building up the relationship since then. It feels awkward and disjointed.
The silver lining however is that the rest of the girls get some decent amount of relationship writing, even if it's a bit sparse it's there.
Overall it's a mixed bag, but entertaining regardless.

The weakest link in this game is the pornography, first of all if NTR sends you to a fit of rage just skip, there's nothing here for you. If you like NTR there's not much for you either as that's not the point of the game. With that being said the game's biggest failure is that the grind doesn't justify the reward you get, the couple of scenes with full picture CGs ARE nice and if you are in the mood they can be great but there's not enough of them and by the time you get them you are probably just defaulting to playing the game for the novelty. 90% of the game is text based and if you are lucky you get chibi animations for the sex or a small Dahr illustration that's used mostly for comedy's sake. There's also a lot of repetition which dulls the eroticism.

Final Thoughts:
When I set out to play this game I wanted to come out of it saying: Man, Akabur still got it! And in a way he still does even if the game is somewhat lame, it's still in line with some of his previous titles. But the main thing that I got out of it is that he is stagnating as a developer. I liked the game quite a bit, will even be replaying it in the near future, but it's also hard to recommend and I fear that if Akabur does not adapt to modern trends and expectations he will just fade to obscurity and I will rather have him do well and be well in whatever he sets out to do.

Think I should preface this by first saying its not as bad as it seems. Certainly there are problems with this game, perhaps more so than Akabur's other games, but if you look a bit deeper there is an attempt to outdo his previous works, so my respects for the effort if nothing else.

Let's get the premise out of the way. You play as genie, obviously, trapped in the arabian world etc. etc. This time however, you play as Jasmine's advisor whose main task is to convince her to marry Jafar. You do this by corrupting Jasmine into doing loads of lewd stuff and at some point she'll happily just do what you ask of her. But lets be honest, the real game here is the non-linear questlines of other characters because Jasmine's storyline is barely fleshed out by comparison.

Gameplay is pretty much the standard Akabur stuff. You just click of things until they cease to be clickable and then the game is done. There's not really much else, all the choices you make in this game is pretty much token, and even then the amount of choices that actually progress the game pales in comparison with the innumerable amounts that dont. In other words, you'll pretty much be setting on a routine, grinding out...ALOT. I spent like 2 in-game months pretty much doing the same shit over and over just to finish up Hornelia's questline. And that's just ONE questline.

H gameplay is VN, or in other words, there is no real gameplay other than choosing what you want. There is more variety here than Akabur's previous games, but pretty much the same shit. Just spacebar until it ends. At least princess trainer has one solitary sex scene that features a semblance of H gameplay. This game has none, or at least none that Ive seen in 4 hours of gameplay.

Artwork is just what youd expect from Akabur, with few improvements to familiar characters like Iris. Its likely the best thing about the game itself, but Ive gotten like zero hardons from this game. There's no VA but there is animations, though probably the laziest kind. About 2 frames max, and not even full scenes, basically just a chibi gif is what youre getting. I mean, if youre familiar with Akabur's works then this should come as unsurprising, hes been doing this since witch trainer.


In Conclusion...

Alright, I started by saying this game's not as bad as its worked out to be, and that's because if youre playing this game at all its because the game's writing is, and remains, excellent. Akabur has a remarkable ability to write non-serious stroylines that are self-aware enough to be funny, and yet paced well enough to avoid being cringy. And much improved from his previous games, the characters here (mostly just parody of characters from other IPs) are well written, with the sole exception of Jasmine who, true to the original princess trainer, remains the most boring character outshined by literally everyone else around her.

The main problem with the game is probably just Akabur's limitations as a coder. Most of the things here we'd already seen before, some of them like the strength training bit is practically a carbon-copy, shamelessly ripped from princess trainer. And for fuck sake, it does very much seem like he's still drawing these in paper/ink, which would explain why there's so few actual scenes, the shameless reuse of art, the pitiful animations, chibi-fied characters, etc. Just fucking use a tablet and do it digitally, its just a lot easier and faster to draw, correct, ink, and colour the damn things.

This is not Akabur's best work - that honour remains very much in princess trainer's hands. Queen Trainer is in fact just an expanded version of witch trainer, complete with more grind, same animation quality, with more characters. In fact, Ive no clue as to why he decided to make this game when he could have just reskinned every single character here to fit the Harry Potter universe and declare this the 'finished' rendition of witch trainer. At least then his portfolio would look less embarrassing.


I really wish hed just stick to what he does best and that's writing. Get art assistants and coders, or even go so far as to exploit AI art. Im giving him 3 stars for the game, because at least its functional, + 1 extra because the game is actually finished. So thumbs up for the effort because god knows it could have easily been yet another abandoned indie game that do zero justice to his writing ability.

Genuinely underwhelming.
This does not feel like something that warrants 3 years of waiting, nor is it something that would be expected from a dev like Akabur.
There's a severe lack of ero content and trainer elements, as well as proper Akabur style CGs. He expended too much effort in adding pointless features like a weather and calendar system, a dumb garden system which is hella unrewarding for the grind, while leaving out essential things like a quest hint system or a stat checker for the girls.

90% of the content is chibi-based. The other 10% is made up of 8% mini CGs that are approximately 10 or so scenes recycled with different outfits or poses, and 2% actual Akabur-esque full screen CGs (which don't have a lot of variations and are a 7.5/10 based on his previous works) that you can only get towards the end of a girl's route.

Coming to the trainer part, its basically non-existent. All you do is advise Jamsine, which gives no indication of how she is progressing with her training, and then there's an original character who has purely text based training interactions with one measly anal scene at the end. Not to mention how unnecessarily repetitive the grind is.

Finally, my biggest gripe, the thing I love Akabur's games for... NO GODDAMN FULL BODY SPRITES. His character models are so detailed and hot, pair that with all the sexy outfits and the customizability it offers, the game instantly becomes worth playing for me, and thats basically why Star Channel 34 was my favourite Akabur game.
QT has no such models apart from Jasmine, and she just gets a topless version after she marries someone, but the irony is that you are no longer allowed in the palace after that, so idk how its of any use. The other original girl that you can 'train' only has head sprites, so nothing below the neck is visible. Completely ruined all my motivation to play.


Overall, there's a huge lack of art, which is the selling point of his games. Instead there's a ton of text and un-arousing chibis, along with loads of unnecessary features shoved down your throat which make progression a pain.

2 stars -> 1 for the writing, it was pretty great as usual and 1 for the slutty Jasmine content, I always enjoy sluttification in my games.

this game is a huge waste of time and a huge let down compared to the other games akabur has made in the past. no outfit changing, more grind with no pay off, yes there are may girls in this but without paying for extra content it's just boring sex (sure the dialog is kinda funny but is nothing to get your rocks off to),in his other games there was just more stuff to do in them when they were finished(big deal you unlock topless mode on jasmine when finishing the main story but i have zero idea how to turn it on). now on to the good stuff the art style is still good and so is the music.

Its... certainly not the expected outcome. But let's review it fairly as is.

Pros:
1) The presentation is just as good if not better than either Witch Trainer or Princess Trainer.
2) The gameplay loop, while still kinda boring is less repetitive than the previous games. You now have tasks you can choose to focus on as there are multiple ways to earn money.
3) The art is still beautiful as always.
4) Sound design is fine.
5) Story progression for each character feels better written. I actually give more of a damn about the girls this time round.

Cons:
1) Boy, oh boy. There is a SEVERE lack of sex scenes and CGs in this game, which is extremely disappointing. Its somewhere halfway between WT (which had hardly any sex scenes at all) and PT (Still Akabur's best work, and with the MOST sex scenes). After 3 years of work, you'd expect more, much more. It... sad. Because the quality is great as always, but the quantity is just... ouch. You barely even get scenes for random encounters now too. And when you do, its obvious its not Akabur's work.

2) Lack of animated scenes. and by that I mean the kind where Jafar fucks Jasmine at the end of PT, no the mini animated scenes. Afaik (I will change this bit if I find one, but I'm 4 hours in and haven't seen one yet)

3) Bugs. There are bugs, none are gamebreaking, but still very annoying. One of note is that when you accept the 30 gold from the innkeeper (random patrol encounter), it resets your gold back to ZERO for some reason. There are a couple of other strange bugs but I can't remember atm.

Overall, not a very satisfying release. I will update this review the longer I play, but for now, its just 'Meh.' Which is sad, but still an okay overall experience.

This is not so much a game as it is an effort to see how much people will be willing to put up with what effectively amounts to a poorly written erotic novel.

Now, imagine this novel, in order to get to any of the good stuff, you know, the eroticism? Yeah, imagine you're about to get to the actual sex and suddenly every new page you turn reveals a page that says "and just before they have sex they..." over and over, for hundreds of pages, before finally, you turn it and it just says "dey fuk'd".

You're not mad, afterall the past few books of this author have been varying degrees of poor quality, but you'd hope that this one would have been the true return to form from what was his first novel, which with every passing year seems to be more of a fluke and not so much a genuine show of skill.

That is what playing this game is like

Mister Akabur did great job again!
Every line of text matters and has lot's of humor.
Awesome intro with lot's of energy and cross-using different storytelling methods.
Miraculous artworks, drawing and refining which Master spent a good amount of His own life.
Very well-written renpy code systems.
Amazing coherency to the canon character's characteristics.
Very atmospheric and heart touching game!
Very skillful chibi/real-size characters transitions wich brought us unbelievable Characters perception.
Masterfully chosen music and very meticulously placed sounds will not leave anyone without belief that they are the part of this world!
I been checking on the Master's Monday posts every week. Whole community was waiting for the release of masterpiece, and here it is - On our own hard drives, giving us all joy and Masters energy which He was puting into this project every day.
And from now on we all can be part of this Miracle - as players!

Boring, Grindy, Barely even a Trainer Game.

The game is called Queen TRAINER and yet funnily enough there's no trainer tag and neither is there barely any traditional trainer corruption in the game.

The game is needlessly grindy with endless filler text with no background cg or anything. Not even a default cg for the city which you explore again and again.

The endless filler wouldn't be so egregious if there was something to look at.

To top it off the game comes in a fixed resolution and bugs out when I try to fullscreen. There also is no load game option only start game, options and contacts meaning you have to start a new game to load your damn save.

All in all this feels like an incomplete build I wouldn't recommend anyone play.

I feel bad for anyone who subscribed to Patreon expecting something here (for 3 years???) and got... this.
After playing for a while I'd had a few lewd interactions with famous characters Aerith and Tifa, met a topless fortune teller, a "gamer girl", Trinity from the Matrix... and none of them even had a character portrait, let alone CGs. Apparently Tifa and Aerith pays off with a single image, according to a CG rip posted in this thread. It is not worth it. Apparently some other characters also get a single CG with variations too. It is not worth it. Jasmine has a handful of scenes, none of which are worth the grind.

Being an experienced developer at this point, you expect Akabur's return to Agrabah to be his finest hour, a celebration and magnum opus of his work. Not so. It may actually be his worst. Download the CG pack, enjoy the handful of images for a few minutes and move on.
