Hi F95, as my last thread sparked interesting debate - here with a new question that genuinely runs through my mind at least twice a month now. Here we go:
Why do developers, during development of their game, publish renders of their characters in wildly different contexts than the original story?
I'm asking myself this question to understand the phenomena better. There is no judgement behind it, simply a wish to understand why this happens.
Fanart seem to make more sense to me, but I'd like to understand the appeal to do this as a developer.
Please, if possible, voice your informed opinion in either the poll or a response.
Possible answers I've gotten so far are:
- As a thank you to paying Patrons
- Because they want and can (Still trying to figure out the want here)
