Did you even pay attention to the story? The underground races was the only option he had left because the Doctor needed the money to be able to fund the clinic and start Lilly's treatment. He couldn't wait and work on his battery because he didn't even got any grant for it yet, so he wouldn't even be able to make money off it fast enough. Making a battery project like his is not something that is done in a day or two and even after it is completed, you need time to get investors, buyers, contracts, etc... It's not so simple.
If they waited for him to finish his project and then find a buyer for it, Lily's would most likely had died by then.
It's okay to criticize the AVN but make sure to pay properly attention to the story if you are going to do so.

Ever saw an AVN main character with brain? MC's can be well educated, even geniuses, but they all aren't smart in terms of life decisions. That's the whole point in this genre.

Mods should give you some kinda reward for doing this for so long, when y'all could basically debate anything else except this, or go back to doing it after a new update is released and you get more ammo against her. Where's ALL the hate and trolling for dickheads like Ian and Wyatt or Cooper, with all the dumb shit he says, has done and keeps doing ??

I couldn't say it better, basically you said almost everything I think about playing fictional AVNs or any other game, that is why I rarely and really avoid put myself into LI/waifu wars or debate if something in a fictional story are realistic or not. Both ways can be well delivered, a bit more realistic or much less specially in sci-fi and fantasy if does not cross my own line of what is totally absurd, everyone has a different line so its subjective, like humor is for each person.Oh, shit. Yep the "hate" some people put into pixelated chars is borderline obsessive at this point, I have like everybody else more and less favorite chars but to reach the point of hate a fictional char, I have better things to worry about, games are about relaxing and fun.

I completely agree. I get that ppl (I was and still am one of 'em too) are passionate about a story as good as this one is and captivated by its characters that, thankfully, aren't just the usual bunch of cum-for-brains hoes only good to serve one purpose and nothing more than that, but again, seeing the same few jokes repeated over and over again after 1000th time is getting obsessive, ridiculous, immature and annoying, in some cases, after a while.
I'm glad that this is one of the few games where there's basically no wrong option when it comes to picking LIs, or there is, but that's a subjective decision based on the player's personal tastes and preferences in women and what they're willing to put up with on certain paths, nothing too serious like it's the case in other games.
I was a V fan up until this update, where she took crazy for the D to new heights, assuming the player sticks their hand in other metaphorical cookie jars. When it comes to her, I half expect to see V burn MC's apartment down with him and the LI the player chooses for him locked in there if he dares to keep on grinding to pay for that absurdly expensive treatment that's meant to save his daughter. How dare he, right ?? Abdul, you know what to do with the guy, bruh.
On the other hand, Allison still didn't convince me so far, things might and hopefully will change in future updates, she's worth getting back with the MC, neither did the MC convince me he deserves her forgiveness. The other LIs are simply better options and show to be ride-or-die material, like Jasmine for example.
Hell, even the clearly bipolar V makes it a better sale than she does, only if you don't fuck around behind her back, but Allison just doesn't do it for me personally. Won't deny she's attractive, smart, classy, a good mother, but I'm not quite there yet to forgive her questionable temperament.
This is just me, won't say other players who made her their official pixelated waifu are wrong about it or start shitting on her character for the lolz to risk triggering someone again, and this is why debating stories like this one is so interesting and fun to do, but the whole "shitting on V on a daily basis" thing that's going on in this thread since the game was first released is simply too much and too ridiculous to keep continuing.
