You might be reading too much into his specific phrasing. On Aug the 17th he easily could've been closer too 60% than 70%, these percentages always seemed like a lot of guesswork for me.That post seem a little contradictory to his post on Aug 17th " We’re currently about 70% finished " Why didn't he just say 70%
Also 70% is that nice threshold were people think "yay almost done, we are in the endgame now", while 60% or 65% doesn't give the same "endgame" vibes even though there's barely a difference. So saying you are 70% finished helps to calm down the masses a lot.
