Still 2 hearts left to fill with a planned august release? Can't say I'm surprised. The surprise was the previous update on time, but it was a special occasion with Alorth's ultimatum. As expected, this ultimatum was only valid for the previous update, we're back "on track"

inb4 "oh, we decided to also include the scenes we originally planned to not be central for the completion of this update...", which pushes the update to 2025. making it yet again, a year between updates.
and then the update ends up having no more material than any of the previous updates.

Alorth has his own game and works on multiple others... Dammed has nothing if Alorth doesn't help him. :WeSmart:
The point is look how much Alorth is making from this game and it only gets updated once a year, he'd never leave.

I think they both know that they could earn a lot of money if they were more frequent with the updates (I doubt that will happen due to several factors) but winning $2000 for this game seems not enough to me tbh.

Right around the time Alorth made that ultimatum he was getting a lot of shit in the NP thread about Radiant's constant delays. I suspect that he was weighing the damage being attached to this product was doing to his reputation against the money he was making with it. Sure sticking with Radiant would be a good short term move but if Damned hadn't started actually working on it and developing new content then it could have likely impacted his marketability, both to potential supporters and to other devs who might want to buy his services.

I think the future of the AVN genre will go down road of collaboration between devs since it takes too long for a single developer to make a large game. For example, BAD by DPC when it is done it will be tens of thousand of renders and thousands of animation. But, the development process may take a decade to complete by one person. Although, choosing a right partner may be just as important since you don't want your reputation to be ruined or another developer laziness dragging down the whole project. Were kind of seeing things play out when 2 developers aren't on the same page. D is just to lazy and lack drive for his own game and Aleroth made a bad choice by picking a partner who's unreliable to do his own job. I think were reaching the limits of patreon/subs model were fans will support a game for years while new developers that have passion for game can't get enough subs to create their game.
