Well if it ends up being abandoned it is definitely not because they didn't get enough support, even with all the fuck ups they still have over 700 paying members.
Tbf for me it is not a great support since I think they live in the US or at least dammed so $2000 each or whatever the percentage they share is not that much money, but of course that does not justify that dammed prefers to talk shit in his Twitter to give information on the development of the game.

Since time is relative to speed, it should flow faster. He can't get much slower, can he?
He could be in a gravity hole however, that would explain the delay.

4k a month for a game that barely gets updated is still a lot. The reason why they don't have more support is because they don't release updates. In almost 5 years they released like 5 or 6 full updates. So at the end of the day if this ends up being abandoned it's 100% their fault.

Both of them with a track record of sitting on updates and only drop them once subscriber numbers start to go down rapidly.
It plays a huge part in why they don't earn more supporters past the stagnated numbers they sit on right now.

4K a month, taxes, then split by 2? They are barely making minimum wage on this then.
In my country they would even be far below it.

Not getting updates, got people losing their minds in here.
Starting petty arguments and shit :KEK:
:coffee:
Meanwhile we're in here waiting for a maximum of 1k renders,
that'll leave us wanting more, and then wait 8-12 months for another update.

Yes.. I'm frustrated too.

dude 4k/month is right about the median annual earnings of us workers. full time its at 5k/month.
sure youd have to devide it by 2. but youd also have to take into account that - most likely - neither is working full time on this. both have other avn projects/ rendering jobs and - idk idc - maybe some other jobs outside of this business as well. to argue 2k isnt much for us standards taking the stuff around it into account is a bit silly. sure it is way below median for full time but there are MANY people in the us doing full time 40h/week+ backbreaking jobs earning less than median and as established arguing them doing this full time is just plain silly.

i dont want to argue if its deserved or not i dont want to argue if their effort put in or the results warrant the patreon income or not. idc. people pledge who they pledge to what they want to pledge to its not my business.
also personally im quite offput by the cost/benefit discussion in regards to patreon but thats just how i look at the plattform - giving the artist something because i like their work not because i expect future stuff/ a certain ammount of stuff/ specific stuff that i want. id be asking to specifically pay for that.

what i do want to argue is that $4k or even just $2/k month - just to reiterate thats NOT their only income source - is not nothing its above quite some in the us albeit below median - again only looking at fulltime - and way above global standards. you do have to take OTHER peoples perspective and reality into account even if its not the reality of the devs if they are indeed living in the us since they will very much argue from their perspective. also asking people flat out what they earn does come off as unnecessarily passive aggressive to me - maybe just the culture i was raised in income is quite the taboo topic here.
Not to mention it's not even 4K Patreon also take there percent and fees off of that

Are there any excuses on their Patreon or Suscribestar or whatever for no releasing the update that was supposely ready for end of August? And the people that pay, are complaining?

The petty arguing is kinda fun if you just sit back and let it happen. I was about ready to crack open a beer.

I don't pay. I'm not complaining. But I would also like to know the reasons for this delay. And maybe some supposed release date. So real. ;)

thats quite the red herring if we pretend you wanted to genuinely reply to that. its some 5% to 12% depending on their patreon set up + some flat fees for transaction. not nothing ofc but its not really related to the argument... if i wanted to i could say throw in subscribestar + itch and were over 4k again.
inbefore someone wants to pull a bad faith taxes argument: the figures are the median income not median disposable income. so neither of my numbers account for these meaning they ARE comparable.

Minor comment, but Patreon actually takes closer to a 20%+ cut in total before taxes for many AVN devs because of the relatively high cost of payment processing fees on low payment amounts (monthly payments in the $1-5 range are hit relatively hard by the flat fee portion). Not trying to step into any side of the discussion, just wanted to point out that the total cut tends to be quite a bit higher than if you just look at the Patreon platform fee of 5-12% depending on plan.

From the perspective of someone that doesn't pay a dime, if it doesn't come out it doesn't come out.

Frankly the quality and direction of this project has fallen so much I generally forget it exist.

I wouldn't mind getting wallpapers, some look great. The one on the front page (picture #3) was th reason I became interested in the game in the first place.
