VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Rainy Day [v0.6.2] [Red Rocket]

A player mentioned how good this game was in a post so I decided to give this game a try.

Pros

• Excellent visuals and renders
• Excellent character models
• Realistic body proportions
• Good humor
• Unique story and setting
• Good writing (overall)

Cons

• This is the second game that I've come across recently with unnatural looking breasts (that have great character models otherwise). The breast shapes are too flat. The size is fine but the shape is too flat like oversized pancakes. Perhaps this is an issue with the latest character models, I don't know. The nipples are also placed too high on the breasts. This is a common problem. In real life, nipples don't go in the center of the breasts vertically. This would only happen in a zero gravity environment. I do appreciate the realistic breast sizes however (not giving all females F - J cup breasts)!
• The English needs some help. A proofreader really needs to go through all the dialog and fix the bad English. I'm sure some of your Patreon subscribers would volunteer if asked.
• The humor between the MC and Zaida is fun at first and then it gets annoying through episode 4 and 5. They need to come to terms with each other and come to an understanding at some point. The playful and humorous banter can continue but it is often too harsh and mean in my opinion (especially if you are playing the good karma route).
• I don't know where the author is going with this game but the player misses too many lewd scenes when playing the good karma route. Is there any point to playing the good karma route? The game kind of encourages the MC to be an asshole so I'm confused on how the karma system is going to play out in the long run.
• Too much information is kept from the MC throughout the game. For example, why are the two female demons hell bent on helping the player despite being treated like shit? Why do they care so much? Why doesn't the MC ever ask about the magic they have and if it is possible for him to learn it? Why does Zaida act like she doesn't know about the powers the MC is developing when she used to be one of the leaders of Trinity. Zaida also doesn't tell the MC about her encounter with Gigas. I don't mind some mystery but not when this much information is withheld and the MC not asking the important questions.
• Like another reviewer mentioned, the MC is bipolar. He is half saint and half asshole. His flip flopping is kind of hard to swallow. He rescued and loves Roxana but treats literally everyone else like shit (except for fuckable young females and even then...)
• The author could have left out the fact that Roxana was raped as a child. The abuse was enough and convincing. I understand that this happens in RL but it really was just cringy and didn't add anything to the game or story.

The game is fun and enjoyable and I'm glad that I gave it a try!

The game does most things right and is well done overall.

I recommend this game and encourage others to give it a try!

Rainy Day [Ep. 5] [Red Rocket]

I recently played "Rainy Day", and I have some thoughts to share about my experience. Overall, the game has a clear and engaging writing style that makes it easy to read and follow. The comedic timing in certain parts of the game was spot-on and added to the enjoyment.

However, there were some aspects of the game that left me with mixed feelings. One notable issue was the inclusion of unnecessarily dark and graphic elements in main character's and Roxy's backstory. These moments felt like they were added for cheap shock value and didn't contribute much to the overall story. Given the sensitive nature of these topics, I believe a more restrained and sensitive approach could have been more appropriate.

Another aspect that stood out was the inconsistency in the main character's behavior. While he generally came across as a likable character in his interactions with others, his choices during erotic scenes took a sharp turn, making him appear as either an asshole or an extremely vulgar one. This inconsistency in character behavior was a bit jarring and could have been handled more smoothly.

Lastly, the big reveal at the end of Episode 5 left me underwhelmed. After all the build-up and convoluted plot threads, the outcome didn't pack the punch I was expecting. It felt somewhat anticlimactic and left me thinking, "Oh...okay, I guess that happens."

In conclusion, "Rainy Day" has its strengths, including its clear writing and comedic timing. However, it could benefit from a more sensitive approach to dark themes, greater consistency in character behavior, and a more impactful plot reveal. Despite these criticisms, I'm still interested in seeing where the story goes in future episodes.

As of ep5.

I loved episodes 1 to 4. Got a little bit annoyed at episode 5. I don't know if it's just the part of the story, the dev going a little bit too hard on the things people liked or what, but ep5 was noticeably weaker, then the previous ones. So... one star less. Bad Roket!

Of course, when I say "weaker" it was still about 3 times better then your average game here. The humor is great and I love the characters. My main problem is that the story hops around a lot in a noticeable way. In many ways it works, but I'd like to interact with the characters a bit more, you know. Lots of tits and pussy can get boring, (yeah, I know I'm weird).

Anyhow. As a whole - great characters, funny story, lots of 4th wall breaking, a story that manages (successfully for now) to combine morbid parts with wacky humor. Good looking renders. The demon chicks feel a little overused but it's entirely my personal taste and not exactly a solid criticism of the game.
No errors or bugs. Would kind of like to see what choices affect the karma (or do they all?) and how critical every one is.

Solid game. Try it.

A fun, funny, dark, and sexy game. And somehow all those things go together well.

Pretty good renders. A few animations.

My favorite part of this game so far is the that you can be the hero, or be a real dick which is always fun lol. The control you have though the your choices is satisfying, with character responding to your choices appropriately.

Its too bad that the dev started another game, but it still seems like progress to this game is coming along at a pretty decent pace.

kudos to Red Rocket, he can really write comedy. this game walks the fine line between ridiculous and hilarious really well.

the characters work well within the story, the art is really good, music is surprisingly good compared to the obnoxious loud trash we usually get in this site ...ehem looking at you popular college simulator... even the in game advertising is done incredibly well, maybe this site could learn something from it.

my only criticism: wtf is going on with MC's skin? please turn the detail levels way down.

After 100.000 games here, where one is a clone of the next one, Rainy Day goes a totaly different way.

• Most important thing for me: They do not over-exaggerate with breast size. Yes, almost every girl has C+ .. but for me thats the border. Thankfully none of the girls come with D+++ Milkbags like in almost every other game these days. Thank you for this move.
• The Models are... stunning. I know, its a matter of taste. But for me, Red Rocket uses just perfect models. Every face is lovely, nice and impressiv.
• The renderquality says: Its 2021. There is not a single frame where I could say anything bad. Everything is perfectly lightend, shadows fall correct, not the slightest trace of grain. And the poses are stunning as well. Sometime you can feel how much work flows into a detailed face expression.. perfect.
• The Humor.. this game can REALLY compete with Games like "The intoxicating Flavor" or "Midlife Crisis" in terms of Humor. The whole time I was playing, I spent laughing. It was realy making my day. And thats something I need to say "Thank you" again.

Consider me a fanboy now

Only 5 episodes in, and i can already see myself getting hooked with the story .

Along depraved awakening and waifu academy i can see this easily becoming my fav VN's and highly recommanded games .

What a great VN, even tho it is short

Pros :

• Interesting storyline, liking the story progression. its a short VN but the dev able to make the story moving at a steady pace, not too fast not too slow.
• The characters in this especially the girls are so pretty, jeez... Great work on that. Loving their characters as well, loving the girls hairstyle especially Violet, and the twins.
• The scenes are hot af, you could decide to be rough or not. Sadly, not all the scenes are animated
• Your choice DOES MATTER, you could be good or bad and that will affect your gameplay. If you are a bad person, only bad choices would appear and vice versa.

Had a doubt because everyone said this VN is short but hey at least the dev did a great job on it. Props and respect to the dev, i also love the little input of the dev reading comments in the game. What a way to break the 4th wall

HAD A GREAT TIME PLAYING IT, HAVE TO GIVE THIS ONE A RIDE !

I mean i was in love with the game so far, it had humor well written, great characters with unique personalities, a rich history where the porn was even just an additional, and then, you don't really can get yourself straight, you just end thinking to yourself what did a do wrong?

Sometimes you fell like something is missing into your live, that purpose that you have been searching for so very long. Some folks could find that into another person, some others into some kind of helpless creature who you know that would be grateful to have someone that she can rely on. Some times you just don't wanna bonk for a game, you wanna feel something that is the kind of felling that what I was expecting to looking for.

Suddenly, after one line, after a single word, you start to feel that you failed to provide the only thing that truly were important to you. That shit hit me deeply.

Great game with lots of scene! Story is also intriguing so its not going to be boring. Rendering and all of that is also great. The only down side for me is probably the lack of animation from the 2nd to 4th episode. But overall, it's still a solid game.

This game is gold, sooo refreshing to play. MC is a real one, no messing about but also he has a heart for those who deserve it. Really well written and immerses you into a more realistic MC instead of the typical 'pervy stepson MC' (which i avoid at all costs) i can only play games where you have a purpose rather than just chase pussy. I heard this is the first game the dev has made and that they have little to no help.. well that is incredible and i hope you get the support you deserve for this gem. Legend in the making

A very good visual novel with interesting plot and character interactions. This game MC is actually quite older and actually has a background and personality, which is a breath of fresh air comparing with many other games out there.

This game has a big focus on maledom so if you like that kink, you need to play this.

Very entertaining. More fun to play than many other VNs. Hot models/sex. Eagerly await updates. This game is both funny and touching (ha) in an inclusive and titillating way. Dev's in-between little scenes are endearing.

Wonderful sense of hummer and i have grown really fond of the comments reaction bit in-between episodes. Interested in seeing where you take this story and all the different branches that can be used especially with one of the options for Violet at the end of episode 5, got a lot darker than I ever expected it would get. Hope to turn her into a personal cum dump with a different rout. Keep up the good work Red(love your character model btw)

Meh, the pseudo self inserts are off putting, otherwise great gme. Just skip the dev's avatar girl scenes.

Good game with interesting setting. Not your typical out of the mills 18yrs old virgin living with mom/incest/school.
Good backstory(flashback) to check if you've a heart.
You can play Good or Bad karma. And it has some nice humor mix in to make you forget you're on the bad karma path playing a bad guy.
Graphic image are good with good lighting(don't need a 300 brightness monitor), animation is decent for a first time developer. Music seems to match the story and I didn't felt the need to mute it.

Only drawback for me was the length of it. Wish there was more content/story... But what is present is captivating.

The story is incredibly well written, even though I'm not too much into the mystic stuff, it makes the characters really interesting.

The characters are unique, thoughtfull and I love em all.

The dialogue are interesting and engaging.

There are suprising twists and turns, with a dash of humor, love it.

Hands down, amazing work on all fronts.

Cant wait to read and play more!
