For those stuck at Chapter 2 in the castle, I don't remember the exact order of everything but you need to first talk to the faceless youkai > then go to the shopkeeper girl > then go to the Castle entrance / village > ask the faceless youkai how to enter the castle > go back once again to the shopkeeper girl and buy Matchstick box > Go to the village and use matchstick box to burn it, the castle guards will move from the castle gate to put out the fire > Now that the castle gate is unguarded, you can enter and leave the zone and start exploring.
I am not sure if visiting the other zones is required, all I know is that these steps are 100% mandatory otherwise the option to buy matches from the shopkeeper girl won't appear.
(Bonus, you can spam check the sunflower area to get bouquets so you can gift them to the shopkeeper so her affection rises to the max, it's a bit time expensive but you can max her love and guaruantee seduction)
Every time you finish a chapter I recommend copy and saving your safe file in case you get soft locked (which will at least happen once at some point) this is the only way to get a true "save" and it's better to do it from the start of the chapter where you have all the time in the world.
