You can't bang lolis if that's why you're asking. Rance has a red line he never cross, and that's banging children. He also kills anyone doing or trying to do this.
Rance is anti-loli, it's a sin, that would taint forever a future girl he'd like to bang in a couple of years in his mindset.
And anti-milf aswell... His range is between 18 and... 32 or 35 if I remember correctly? Aside some very hot milfs exceptions, or bitches he wants to teach a lesson 'cos they were arrogant or "evil" (by Rance standards, that means those girls are really, really evil/nuts lol)...
Some characters are 15/16 yes. But I don't think it isn't censored in the game, I played this ages ago (to say the least) but I think I remember being pleasantly surprised that MangaGamer didn't censor the real ages in that english release. Or maybe I'm crazy and what I think I remember doesn't exist.

He's not into lolis but he doesn't wait for the "18" magical number either (this game has 15yos, but I think there was even a 14yo girl in another older game, I could be wrong, nothing lower though). And he kills anyone fucking his girls (and most girls are his girls from his perspective), it's not because of some moral view. I don't remember him being anti-anything, he's just not into it himself. His most common strike range is around 20.

Well that would be ideal but realistically it'd probably be too long (also, IV and V aren't very popular, compared with I/II/III/VI/VII etc). It's ok the begin with Rance VI (even if it's not the best Rance game, it's good overall), I began with Sengoku Rance (Rance VII) and even if I didn't know a lot of characters yet back then it didn't prevent me from enjoying it. I still think Sengoku Rance is the best by far, but I didn't play IX and X yet.
This, right here, is pure gold. The best game in the franchise. Magic is #1 waifu. Forehead and glasses FTW.
I played Kichikuou Rance then Rance VI, I think this make go into Sengoku Rance really nice since you will be looking reunion with past cast when calling reinforcement.
Kichikuou Rance might have some spoiler for Rance VI, but since role of Rance is different it is fun to see Rance as savior of Zeth this time.
Technically, Kickikuou has spoilers for all the games that come after.
Kichikuou was meant to wrap up the series when Alicesoft was on the verge of bankruptcy. So they just made it into one big game with everything they had. (and then it sold so well that it actually saved the company, lol)
Kichikuou's Zeth plotline was the basis for this game. The Helman plotline was the basis for Rance IX - Helman Revolution. The Church of Alice and Kalar Forest plotlines got worked into Rance Quest. The Demon Realm/Demon invasion plotline, the final phase of Kichikuou, became the basis for Rance X. And the JAPAN plotline (tiny as that it was) was elaborated on and made into Sengoku Rance.
In that sense, Kichikuou is also kind of a timecapsule - you can tell which parts of the metaplot had already been hammered out in 1996 (basically all the major characters and story beats of Zeth, Helman and the Demon Realm, as well as the main gods), and which parts were changed or added later on (most of the stuff about JAPAN and the Church of Alice).

I remember this (or was it 5D?) being one of the best games I never want to play again. I remember how it utterly crushed my passion for dungeon crawlers, ground it into fine dust, and made me solemnly swear I will never touch a dungeon crawler again for as long as I live.

This is the inconsistency between different sources what I was talking about though. This site lists Kentou Kanami as 21 while vndb lists her as 15.

As someone before me implied, each game happens during a different year (but yeah, there are mistakes depending on the website). If you really want to know the age of each girl before playing each game, just check their birth date. Rance's universe has different "eras", for example, Kentou Kanami was born in GI1001: there are 1015 GI years in total after that comes LP0001. Kanami appears for the first time in Rance 1 (which happens in LP0001), she was 15 yo. That's probably why it's on the vndb character page, but it's wrong for Rance VI, which happens in LP0004, so she's 18yo here.
But for example Magic (the princess), which is destined to become one of Rance's "main girls", appears in Rance VI and is 15yo in that game (born in GI1004).
One example of a girl too young for Rance's taste was Kouhime in Sengoku Rance (born in GI1008, Sengoku Rance happens in LP0005 so she was 12). But he didn't wait for long, as I think you can H her in Rance IX or X (LP0006 or 0007, so at best she's 14). If someone who played one of those 2 games could confirm, but considering she's one of the main princesses/wives I assume he Hed her, I could be wrong.
