The morale is not the problem but lack of tooltips and system interface. Renpy engine simply wasn't meant to be used like a strategy game but instead of dating simulator with options. The problem with targets and assaulting them are that: 1) you don't know requirements how high morale you need 2) you don't know the reward you will gain either by pillaging or sparing, and what the consequences are when ignoring target 3) once you began losing, you can easily spiral morale down to 0 and be unable to increase it.

None of that has anything to do with Renpy. Sure it's not going to hold your hand if you go beyond the typical VN mould but it's very flexible and can support all sorts of games beyond plain VNs. Look at all the sandbox and trainer games made with it for examples.

You absolutely can do complicated interfaces with Renpy. Long Live The Queen (a non-porn but very good Renpy game) is a very excellent example. And you can do mouseover stuff with Renpy, for example having a text panel that tells you what the option you're hovering over does.

Mind, at least some of this stuff requires familiarity with programming (specifically the Python language, which Renpy uses). But if you're halfway decent at that you can do some wild stuff.

okay, first and foremost, 4minutewarning? I FUCKING LOVE YOU FOR THIS GAME... this game is fucking amazing, light-hearted, sorrowful, suspenseful, and just... I have now hit the "this is as far as you can go at present. you will be able to complete this plotline in a future version" message 3 fucking times now.... it is both hilarious, and pissing me the hell off. this game is fucking gold. I anxiously await future versions with glee. this is freaking awesome. BONUS POINTS AND BEYOND FOR THE ABILITY TO TOGGLE OFF UNDESIRED CONTENT TYPES WHILE STILL BEING ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME. NOT MANY DEV'S DO SHIT LIKE THIS, AND I FUCKING ADORE YOU FOR THAT ALONE. there have been many a wondrous game I sought to play, that I found out I just flat out have to avoid due to inability to turn certain things off, such as, being severely squeamish as I am, gore, if done realistically, physically makes me ill, as in legit would get sick from it, this game clearly has gore in parts, including but not limited to death scenes (hello dragon, can eat people) and the fact I can disable that?! FUCKIN LOVE IT.

you have won my respect for this game, its contents, the ability to toggle things undesired and still maintain play-ability, and my sincere desire to play more, whenever it becomes available

for what it is worth, I do not post here often, twice to date, this being one of them. I lurk, and download games here to play/trial/test if I like them regularly, but very rarely do I ever post about something. this definitely warranted a post. please keep up the amazing work on this game <3

There just isn't content written about it yet, though the developer (or other member of the team, I forget because I'm dumb) has said that content is planned for her in the future, so it'll definitely come, we just have to wait until it's written.

As I continue to enjoy this game I have thoughts, or perhaps hopes. Or Both.

Elfies
For me, I have a special fondness and care for both Maelys and Heloise. Specially Mae, who is so well written and portrayed. I feel for her a ton and definitely want to take my time with her and show her that I'm not like most Dragons. I want cuddle her, play fight with her (once she has healed up) and kiss her as she is gently yet firmly pinned underneath us. I want so many things that earn both her trust and loyalty, but also her affection through both us and Heloise. Also would love to see Marie-Anne visit her and tend to her while we join their company, and see both versions of Mae, be it she tenses up (Despair) or relaxes a little (Doubt), maybe getting a affectionate nuzzle while Marie clothes her.

As for Heloise... she too is well written, which I like. From being a toy to become rather affectionate to us... I love it all. And I do hope we can get her to invite Mae into our chambers, not just for occasional fun times of course. I definitely want more Mae-Helo in the future :3

And Val... I can't decide if I want to hate fuck her or simply let her stew and play the long game to earn her trust.

Cooch for me feels like she is drinking to forget. Kinda want to see whats that's about. And would love to see more of her. Specially the rematch of Naho.

Abbess... I am unsure of. Don't really know much about her other than she has lost her mind.

Anne-Marie I adore and would love to see more of her around the place. Maybe taking Naho for a bath, much to her dislike. Definately seeing Mae and tending to her. Also I kinda would love to see her interact with Helo and our Daughter, maybe scolding her for trying to nab Sebastian. Kinda see her like a second mother of sorts. Oh, and Mina and her would be a grand time. Thick and boobs galore. :3

Mina I definitely have a thing for, second to my two elfy wives. Thick and big tiddies to boot. Would like the whole treasury knock up to be addressed down the road. Like 'Hey Chief... remember that time in the treasury...'

Darja I feel is natural for troublesome fun things. Like playing with Naho, who has to put up with it. And Malice and her getting up to no good at times. Simply adore.

Naho for me I am kinda on the fence. Like I don't want to break her and I don't want to put her through experiments. I do though want to soften her up a little and make her more of a softie yet still have that fighter spirit. And bear our young of course.

If anyone is interested, here are the needed dialogue choices that set Malice's "disposition" for the consort abduction (and possibly cataclysm) event.
There are two talks - one happens when you visit kobold hordes and the other when you visit a "prisoner" - such as Naho, Valzira or enslaved Mina/Marie-anne.

Those combinations are true in which path they lead to, but aren't absolutely required. Each path can be achieved by several different choice combinations, which I actually really like. What leads to what is designed logically, so it makes each path pretty easy to get to by just thinking for a bit, rather than hunting for the one true combination for each outcome.

I found some bug with mercenaries, I can't hire them. After talk with Rhyll I get 7 extra days, but mercs don't appear in the Lair and they don't join me at the beginning of the 4th Act. Anybody knows, what may cause this, or how to fix that?

I understand why since it can be pretty cringe-worthy at times- except for the Mary-Anne VA. If you haven't heard her lines yet I'd try enabling voice acting for her at least.

You're likely to see parts of the MC, but I think I want to leave their exact appearance to your imagination - that way black dragon players and red dragon players can happily coexist.



Three more chapters:

Chapter 3, where you build your lair and kidnap maidens
Chapter 4, where you lead the assault on the Regent's keep
Chapter 5, where you decide how to rule your kingdom, and the fates of the characters involved

I tend not to like games with too much padding, so overall playtime will remain quite low - but branching story choices will hopefully give you some replay value.

Guessing you are developing on Ch. 5 now?
