I just cheated and used URM to turn Marie-Ann back to normal, used the same thing to be married to the 3 princess without having to kill or abandon anyone. Even made both elfs the mother of Malice.

I chose "how can I stop it" when she got the eyes and fuzzy ears only, and it said there is no way to.
next time I saw her she was livestock instead of a person.
No idea how one would go about stopping it.
And the walkthrough is useless on the subject
My guess is that you need to have not started the Cataclysm to avoid this.

Not long. After doing the court stuff just go back to her and Sabetha and you'll get another scene with them.
I don't find her hideous. In fact she's rather magnificent, in a strange sort of way. And as far as we can tell, she seems no less intelligent and to be happy with her lot, and to be putting out powerful good vibes. I'm not sure whether I should be sympathising with her or congratulating her.

Use URM and search for the characters titles in the variable names, for Marie-Anne per example, it's Farmer, and search until you find what you want changed, if the variable of her transformation is true just put it to false.
i have 2 files and in the one where shes is just a husk i have no clue what i even did to her anymore

You can also just run the exe through steamless. Just tried it & seems to be working fine.
I played a little bit a long time ago.. but wondering by now, does the princess come back into the story ?
One thing that kinda turns me off this game, is that without a walk through, its easy to lock out content. Just basic choices remove content and characters without you even knowing. I dont like that.

Yes, the princess comes back into the story.
There is a sort of walkthrough, but it is probably very out of date by now. IIRC it covers acts 1 to 3, and maybe the early part of act 4. If you do a search on this thread, you'll probably find it.
