Yes, thats the reasoning. They went with the narrative interesting path of having the Cataclysm directly affect characters we interact with. It isn't just relegated to NPCs or There Over Yonder events. It's also not something that is set in stone. Don't want Deerie-Anne, don't have Malice. It's not as if this is a required story state. She will almost certainly not be the only casualty of the Cataclysm amongst the Harem. I'm almost 100% Certain Darja is turning into a Dragon Princess due to her abnormally long pregnancy so Darja fans out to brace for her next.

You do realize the cataclysm could have affected the characters a variety of ways and they went with the path that turns one of your beloved into a goofy ass deer without any input from you? I am not saying there should be no cataclysm, just that the cataclysm that we got is gross, which is set in stone IF you want Malice and Heloise. It's a fantasy game, there is no reason that these things are mutually exclusive other than its artificially written that way. Having consequences alone doesn't make the narrative good, it has to mean something, and right now all it does is rope you along with a fetish that people didn't ask for. What's wrong with having more options and paths to solve an issue instead of just being stuck with it?

I repeat, from the very beginning characters were straight up telling you that there were strange monsters and reality breaking phenomena during the last cataclysm. No-one was saying typical shit like "Oh Nyo~ the demons are gonna invade and kill everyone!".
Everything was warning about strange fucky-wacky stuff happening to reality and even stranger monsters appearing into existence.
And that Bird Boy event was easily the loudest, in your face even, bit of "foreshadowing" (if you can even call it that) we could have ever got.

But you two just keep dismissing it all, and behave like I'm the crazy one for making a connection between "During the last cataclysm there were strange creatures" and "Help! My boy is turning into a bird!".

It is only obnoxious to you, because you don't actually listen to what we have to say. You simply see that we don't like the cataclysm, you go "well chuckefucks shouldnt have bred the apocalypse" when our argument is "couldn't you have made the apocalypse look a bit different so we DIDN'T have to end up with this shit?". And then something gets stuck in the gears inside your brain and you goto step 0.

So I just finished "speedrunning" through the game a second time with liberal use of the skip key.
The conversations with the infernals where interesting but waaaaay less dialogue and content then malagar had, it also did not really lead to much other then Adeline stabbed the mc somehow? To turn them into a dragon? As part of a ritual?

Same when you confront Adeline with what you learned from the infernals, you are not really allowed to ask specifics even with the scant info you have learned.
Honestly pretty dissapointing was hoping to learn some more plot info there, also built the torture chamber this time and had the "body pillow" consort. Pretty brutal stuff.... But her dialogue was pretty funny as I just kept petting her head when she cursed me over and over.

Dont think I will try the last lair it seems to be about eldritch stuff and tentacles nooo thank you.

It's actually an interesting lair, you don't really have to engage with any tentacle or spooky alien content that you don't like. There is like one dream you get where you have an option to boink Mother and that's it unless you sacrifice more people to her. I like the interactions it has with Malice, because it seems Mother is somehow connected to her, there are events when Malice is growing up where she talks with Mother and its really weird, I won't spoil in case you want to see it for yourself.

I am not sure what the rest would be, Heloise wants to have a family with you, don't you want to have it with her? Kids take on traits after their parents, so it makes sense that Malice is a little wild given you're a dragon. Despite that, Heloise wants even more children, so an ideal Heloise arc in my mind would be like having more Malices go around, constantly kicking up trouble. It reminds me a bit of the Addams Family where everything is kind of messed up yet cute and wholesome.

Like how if you give her a different name than what you said originally, she forces you to say the first one, some people view it as some sort of power play but I interpreted it more as she's just fucking with you.

Similarly with the whole apocalypse situation, maybe I'm just messed up in the head but I totally would tease people about it in her place too because its funny to see people freak out. Once upon a time when I was a kid in high school there was some sort of a shooter in the area close in proximity (dude was just angry at girlfriend leaving him so the dumbass just shot up some cars, nothing important) and everyone in the school lost their shit, some were crying, some looked like they saw a ghost, to me it was just amusing finally something interesting happened. I would tease people about it all the time, now granted that's not the same as a world apocalypse but maybe she isn't that bothered by it because maybe its outside of everyone's control or maybe its not really that bad or maybe its really that bad but in that case why not have fun instead of despair.

Besides, Heloise deserves to be happy, and if she wants more apocalypse kids then she should have more. World has already gone through one period of naga messing up reality and everything turned out fine by the end, couple more of them couldn't hurt if Malice didn't insist on being a single child for now.

I dont think I missed any lore as there where almost none the ingame people dont know much about nagas so there is no lore to be found.

It's not about right vs wrong, its about whether its funny. You can blame her for not doing XYZ but you can't blame her for her sense of humor. She actually does try to help you with a couple of things if you ask her, like fixing Maelys, but again she's not evil she's just a free spirited person and she doesn't want to be burdened with having to be a hero, she just does her own thing. There is more complexity to people than just being singularly good or bad.

It is a person who has experiences, if you can't actually name anyone there is no trauma. Not to mention trauma isn't just being scared, it is a recurring haunting thing which I can't say applies in either case. Cataclysm seems to be a more force of nature than Malice's explicit will, it's more reality breaking down itself than her doing the damage.

Also the point is that the Naga are in control so it literally doesn't matter what you do, they can do and make anything happen so if you reproduce more of them it will be only because Malice permits it. Even if you don't want to, she could just make you want to, this is the problem when real world ceases to have normal rules.

EDIT: add onto time travelling that Malice has and it becomes questionable if it makes sense to say if these creatures actually exist in any given point in time. More Naga could exist right now influencing the world to put events to put them into existence for all we know, we don't know their limits.

Malice is Love. Malice is Life. Malice is the best character by far. This game should be renamed to include her name in the title. Something like "Malice's Story"

B. metagaming: MC explicitly does not know anything about a cataclysm in character until after having Malice. At which point it is unstoppable.

C. spoilers: There is zero indication that the Cataclysm is going to mutate your LI into hideous abominations. As the game is very intentionally vague about what the Cataclysm actually does.

D. time travel: This content was just added. So while future players have the possibility of getting spoilers (which are a can of worms), current players had no way to foresee the future and know this is what is going to happen to their waifu.

E. We are given a false choice. We can say we don't like it, and it happens anyways.
