VN - Ren'Py - Ravenous [Arc 2 Ep.16 Beta] [Lament Entertainment]

I liked the second arc of Ravenous. I played the entire first arc and I already identified the error. There were no choices. The first arc seemed like a book where I had to accept the story that was told to me. And it was a wonderful story, but I wanted to be part of it. I couldn't. The second arc has choices, which makes the game wonderful for lovers of the genre, like me. Suspense, supernatural, intrigue. With so many VN games on the market, games that tell good stories, in my opinion, deserve at least a chance. My rating is based on that.

I would've enjoyed this if not for the extremely creepy models. Some light spoilers.

The story is good, at least it's trying to be somewhat original as a porn game story, but in the end it's garbage as an actual standalone story.

The issue of this game beside models, is that it's not sure what it wants to be. The dev claims to be "story with porn" but when the story barely holds up as a porn game, not a story focused game, you really start to wonder. Which is where the issue stems from, there's barely any sex or any decent scenes throughout the game, which makes me question what's the point if you don't do any side right? You don't get the porn nor do you get a time-worthy story. The game has potential but the dev really needs to fix up the flat story, add some pacing for porn... etc. it's funny cause there are so many opportunities by side characters with hot clothes but... No? I don't get it, the story wouldn't even suffer.

But all of that is just mild to me, the real issue for me is the extremely, extremely creepily young models.

You see, at first I was like, eh... his sister is slightly too young for my liking but it could pass.

Fast forward over 10 young models of the (mostly) same personality and creepiness, you find the ultimate, most creepiest fucking young character in an AVN I've ever seen. She's Karina.

Now, Karina is way too young just from her looks, but what makes it worse is how it's implied throughout the game by her family members (the usual mom and grandma lusting for mc). Karina talks, acts, looks, and gets scolded like a fucking 12 year child. Now spoilers about her that don't really matter, she sucks the MC's "pp" and thinks she's his "gf" and then the mom gets mad AT HER when she tells her about it, but doesn't get mad at all at the MC, and even passes it off as if it's like nothing (Karina threw himself at him so MC isn't guilty... Logical). Afterwards, the mom and grandma constantly scold her over why she shouldn't touch/suck strangers, and treat her like an actual child.

Overall, it was smooth sailing, but the point where Karina happened, and that scene happened is literally where I almost puked, I had to fast forward every Karina scene just so I can get over the main story.

Other adult models are hot, the mom for example is amazing and many other milfs look nice and not overly done unlike other games. The mom is one of the few hot characters that were serviced well, especially towards the end, she had a good plot throughout and it connects things together.

A major story issue with this game is the "anti-anger" spell, it feels like extremely cheap writing to let MC accept things quickly, and obviously introduces so many plot holes, and the story gets pretty messy at times, it's obvious that the dev didn't plan that much ahead (like MC constantly forgetting girls and promises). However some scenes and side characters were awesome, like that crazy guy with a shotgun, his scene towards the end was funny and done well imo, they bring life to the story.

Towards the end I realized there was probably a choice/option to turn this off, not sure why all options were turned on by default so idk (I don't like monster/beastiality or whatever), but the fact still stands.

Overall, it's great, and an easy 4/5 as a porn game, but the creepy models that the developer likes too much easily knocks it down to 2/5

The story start good and then... Nothing happen for a looong time. The sex scenes are just ok. The characters there's no charisme, the models are good, the scenes show us that the dev is trying his best, the gameplay flow is ok, and the mistery theme is rly bad. A medium game, but very boring, where you are not a player, because you play nothing, you are only watching the story going on. I dare to say that the only thing that keep ppl comming back is the loli characters.

Defenitely one of my favorites here. A really entertaining story. It reminds me of Stranger Things. A touch of mystery, many relatively young protagonists, but also some MILFs. The Renders are absolutely stunning. It has just the right mix of story-based text and lewd scenes. I was very happy to read that there will be another part after Arc 2. I'm looking forward to it.

A lot of people give the story a low score but while i agree the dialogue isn't the most amazing, the story itself did something a lot of porn games haven't - It actually entertained me and didn't feel like a huge slog.

Other than that the models are pretty good but it is a lot of loli content so if you aren't into that this isn't for you.

Just tried 'Arc I', off to a bad start.

MC is far more feminine than any of the LI's and in the first half he has long hair to double down on his feminine behaviour. Once again we have an mc who is absolutely afraid of women, he has panic attacks when they touch him and then tries to cover it up as being a voice of reason.

He also has lots of cuckish behaviour like false bravado in cringe lines like "yeah i have change but im not giving it to you", as if it looks macho to be rude when there's no reason to engage.

The LI's look a little younger than I like, but that seems to be the price of avoiding btba garbage in vn's.

Writing is so-so this far, he doesn't act like a convincing male but it's not overly full of mistakes and there does seem to be a plan in the progressing of the plot - although the plot is monsters and cults which also sucks

The LI's suck because they all absolutely throw themselves at MC (young and old), despite mc having literally nothing to offer. You also dont get the option to say no since you (the mc) are pathetic.

At the beginning it asks what you want to see. I said no to the milfs because I didn't want to be forced to go with the misshapen indian/police woman but you cant avoid it SEVERAL TIMES

ARC 2: The game and writing gets worse than ever. Constant monster bs and all the girls looking and acting younger than they are. They literally talk like children now, while simultaneously wearing lingerie

I think this game is great. The graphics and renderings are excellent. The plot, while simple, is still interesting. All the models are very attractive. Milfs in general are top. I would recommend everyone to try this game. 5 stars.

My two cents in two blocks:

Pros:
* Fast pace of updates! As most of my favourite VNs are either dead or in coma, it just feels so good when updates with real content just keep coming.
* Most models have really perky bodies and great unique looks, even the motherly types are mostly attractive which is very rare observation for me
* Renders look good
* Story is not an award material, but interesting enough
* Writing is sliiiiightly above average for me, at least it sticks to the story without those cringe explanations of photography, sports or game rules, etc.
* There's a lot of dialogue and situations among girls without MC's involvement, I really enjoy those
* Naughty scenes do not feel forced (and hopefully it will stay this way)
* Lot of interesting characters

Cons:
* All but single female suffer by severe case of instant attraction to MC. :-/
* DAZ eroge animations look just like DAZ eroge animations. Not that I would expect more
* Not the most original story around

So good luck to the dev, hopefully it won't slide to the mindless harem experience later on. Not that I would mind some group scenes though.

The story is not great. Well, the actual story is "decent", but I wouldn't call it groundbreaking or anything. It's coherent enough and has clear direction; however the dialogue and actual writing is mediocre at best, awful at worst. Player agency is completely absent. It is unmistakably a kinetic novel, and a slow one at that.

Renders are okay, sex scenes are quite lacking but on par from what I'd expect from a Daz VN.

Most of the characters have at least some background and development given to them, although there are a few that are a lot more fleshed out than the others. That being said, they are all written to be extremely infatuated with the MC for no discernible reason, which makes them feel a lot more fabricated than I would like.

Realistically, 2.5 stars out of 5, but I have to round down.

Story is interesting and kind of dark but I like that. The girls are cute and gorgeous. Erica is the most beautiful girl <3 Love the glasses. Animations are great. Can't wait to see how this game will finish.

Love this game. Its got everything i love regarding the character but also realy enjoy the story. And graphics a stunning. I really don't understand why the rating are so low. I guess its a matter of taste!!!

Ravenous [Arc 1] [Lament Entertainment]

I've read only first arc and dropped it at some point, it was all over the place. Plus, I didn't really liked anyone here and got REALLY bored. Story itself is not great, to put it lightly. Models are okay, tho. Don't expect much, it's "story focused/romance focused" story. Ha! Sure.
I'll probably try to brute force it and see what it has in the store in future arcs, but for now it's not worth it.

Seeing screenshot of the game you must think "wow hot af"! "Can't wait to fuck them"! But the dev is really into teasing his/her audience so you'll have to wait. A lot. I'd be ok with that if the story was better. Or at least characters made some sense.
I really wanted to like the game because it has one of the hottest models. But it's ruined by horrendous story and dumb characters.

Well, this is a strange one to review. I'd give it 3.5 Stars if it were possible.

I feel that the 1* reviews are not justified and largely due to some weird and frustrating story decisions.

So, the basics: the art is great, the animations wooden and soulless and consequentially the sex scenes fairly robotic. It's a VN, no choices.

Thankfully the Loli stuff can be turned off, because it's... ewww.

Now, the story itself is fine...ish. There's mystery and horror and sex and stuff. It has a good basis. The problem is that the Horror that is being teased is likely to be Horror Light. Plot Armor is fairly obvious for the MC and all the girls, so it really doesn't add tension, more of a slightly edgy back drop.

Then you have the MC and every girl (and I mean EVERY single one) instantly falls for him. He might as well be the only guy in a town filled with sex-starved nymphomaniacs. So far, so... tropey. I can't say how tired I am of this, but I am sure most of you don't care.

There is also way too many women. What's the point in introducing yet more all the time? It leads to absurd scenes where on the eve of Armageddon, the MC sexts with some woman in the bath tub. Priorities, man!

Now, the source of frustration comes from everyone apparently wanting to fuck the MC and the Dev somehow trying to pace this, so it doesn't devolve into one big orgy. Unfortunately, that is not done very well. The MC acts completely out of character, desperately trying to slow things down with every girl he meets and if he doesn't, the girls have a sudden change of heart in the final moment or someone walks in or whatever... It all feels odd and unnatural for the sake of the holy grail of Porn Sex Progression.

So, it's a fine game, the story is better than most of the drivel you find here, but it's also sabotaging itself severely, which is sad.

Also: The Loli stuff is really kinda ick.

The Dev all the time tells us that this is not a porn game but a story with porn in it. Well, I respect such a point of view. But what we have in reality?

There is indeed not a lot of porn in this game, but the amount of teasing is just insane. All the girls and women are hot. They all walk around in sexy skimpy clothes or whithout them. They all tell the MC how much they want to fuck him. And the MC? I have an impression that he hates sex. Evey time a girl throws herself at him he is like: "Not today, my dear. May be tomorrow or the next month". He behaves like an old man married for many years, not like a horny teenager that he is supposed to be.

Now about the story. It is very weird. It is supposed to be a horror story but the Evil in this game is so weak and pathetic that it feels simply ridiculous. The main antagonist (Eve) is a monstrous murderous 300-years old witch. Even her minions are scared of her. And she falls in love with the MC like a typical schoolgirl and lets easily trick herself. The MC kisses her on the mouth all the time which almost makes me throw up. And he pretends to truly care about her, though she directly caused death and misery of many of the townsfolk.

The other evil characters are even more dumb and pathetic. The policewoman Teresa tricks them all the time and they cannot guess that she is the mole among them, though she is doing it almost openly and she is the only one who didn't go through the blood drinking ritual. Also she is all the time with Isabella who is the main enemy of the cultists, but they still cannot add two and two.

The graphics in this game are good and the girls are very hot, especially the lolis. That's the only reason I give two stars instead of one. Also there are games with even worst stories, but all in all Arc 1 just goes nowhere.
I hope in Arc 2 the Dev will take better care of the story and fixes the pacing of this game striking a better balance between blueballing and the needs of the plot.

Where do I begin, visually the game is quite good, technically it is easy above average, and that's where the positive goes, visually eye candy, but everything else including the story is nonsense, It's a game that's full of lolis, milfs, and the MC just doesn't want to fuck.

It's a game with a weak, boring narrative that doesn't even let you enjoy the sexual section in a PORN game, In the MC's house there are always 3 or 4 semi nakeds lolis, you know "18" women with the bodies of 14 or 15 year old teenagers, wanting to suck your cock and fuck all day, but the MC is special and is in a kind of eternal celibacy, in a porn game.

I give it a 1, because of the stupid story, because it is a kinetic novel, and because it does not even meet the minimum objective of being a decent porn game, are it has so many fake "18" years old "women" naked in the house, with a bunch of horny milfs too, and you as a player cannot do or decide anything, because it is a kinetic VN and very poorly written.

Mc is a dumbass that avoids sex like the plague. Usually slowburns have excuses, reasons why the MC cant fuck the girls, here theres no reason, they all want to fuck him he is just stupid and dev wants to save it for later I guess. Story is garbage, because yes sometimes slowburns can be salvaged by good stories and seeing how relationship grow and allow for the sex. Here nah, just silly shit dont expect much, kinetic so no choices, makes for a waste of time really.

If you are in this page and say u gonna do a porn game, better do nice porn scenes, this games is a blue ball machine, dont use this page, dont try to trick us.
The game doesnt have the quality of a real story game, not even close, so in my opinion if you have less, way less sex scenes than the other games of the genre, better do the best scenes, thats not the case, this is a huge 1 star, we have to use the same rate level than we use in steam or whatever.

Kinetic Novels....The worst there is in gaming. No decisions,MC is at the mercy of Dev and its awful. Its like Playing Sexnote with an MC who is a huge blundering idiot of a whimp.
