I'm playing both paths and the gender you chose does present some interesting divergences not only in relation to the sex scenes but the way characters react to you. Valerie is clearly a love interest although she is an extension of the MC through their bond, so there may be many interesting opportunities to make decisions on her behalf. This is an unconventional arrangement for a VN, to be sure, but I find it interesting to explore a VN where the main love interest serves as an extension of the MC and they experience one another's sexual pleasure even if they are not participating. I'm still trying to imagine Valerie with freckles and wondering how she got freckles in the sunless depths of hell. My freckles only come out in the summertime so maybe spending more time in the sun will make hers come out lol.

I can see why the story might feel this way early on, but from Act 3 most scenes are focused on the protagonist and the other characters also receive increased screentime.
After the first optional sharing scene (v0.11), Valerie will come back home to tell the MC about it before beginning their training/fuck session. You can choose to take either a submissive or dominant role in this conversation, which will influence the direction of future scenes.
