Picked this up out of my backlog, sooner than I usually do, simply because I felt like having something with this specific art style. Say whatever you want about Avantgarde, but they do have nice art and their artist has a talent for skin-dentation and other such things.

However, the art quality is about the only thing I can praise about this game. Everything else is either debatable or bad, depending on personal preferences to an extent.

First of all, the gameplay. The gameplay is pretty basic-bitch RPGM stuff. It has an element system that's relevant only for a relatively short amount of time, and a skill-pick-up system that's very simple. The weirdest thing about the system is that max level is 50 for whatever reason. I don't know why that specific number, aside from the fact that by the time you reach that level you'll have all the skills, but it's definitely not there to properly limit character power, because the dev included permanent stat boosters and ending up with say MC having 700+ S. Attack is pretty trivial... not that you need that much for the final boss, these numbers are more relevant for the optional stuff.

Because yes, there's optional boss fights and yes, they're harder than the final boss... for a given value of hard. I didn't really have any fights that lasted more than 4-5 turns.

I didn't even really do any grinding. Hell, I even downright avoided fights at times, but for the most part, I just murdered everything that got in my way and that's that. At one point you get a ring that doubles XP gain, which speeds things up, but I suspect you can hit max level for all 3 even without that ring before you hit the final fight if you go after all the optional stuff.

All in all, it's not really memorable. The fact of the matter is that by the latter bits of the end, I wasn't even bothering to use the skill that reveals weaknesses and resistances, as is, I only really bothered for bosses initially... but once you get MC's 100 BP skill and the related attack skill, all boss fights degenerated into getting that up and spamming that one skill a few times until the boss is dead, with blondie healing here and there and red doing damage too.

The gear system is not particularly impressive either. Usually just bigger stat sticks with little that stands out. Some weapons give skills and some pieces of gear have special effects like giving characters a buff or debuff at the start of the fight, but it's not particularly impressive. The fact that gear drops from monsters is neat I suppose, but the random drops from generic monsters almost never beats the stuff from optional bosses, so it almost never matters... There's even a bit of a half-assed set system, but it's not really interesting or notable.

Weird that the strongest weapons and armors in the game, from the 6 toughest optional bosses, are just stat sticks... I have no idea what the dev was thinking with that... Not like it matters, if you beat all of those, the Final Boss is a complete joke, with the most annoying part being that its transition to Phase 2 is treated as a new fight so you lose all your buffs if you used any during Phase 1, and that can mean loss of BP too.

Basically, nice ideas, poor execution. Par the course for this dev, unfortunately.

Moving on. The story is in the usual "your mileage will vary" category. It's not a bad story tbh. Riku's situation and the girls' motivations are decent enough, same with the shenanigans it leads too. There's the usual sprinkling of Avantgarde's weird humor here and there, though surprisingly without any poop jokes. What's strange is that there's no cat-people or talking animals, even though this is implied to be in the same setting as the Demon Harem game, and happening near Not!Britain. I'm not sure what to think about this. Either way, the setting is still absurd in the typical manner for this game, and the girls go from zero to jumping on MC's dick really fast over very flimsy justifications. Though the game does seem to imply that both of them are horny would-be sluts that were looking for excuses for a while now on account of having been in all-girls schools all the time until recently.

Really, the girls' relationship with the MC is decently well worked in for the context it happens in. It's not realistic or anything, but it's consistent enough with the setting it happens in.

Quite frankly, the story makes most consistent sense when MC dates both of them at the same time, which gets you a specific CG after the final boss fight.

This is where the bad part pops up. The game is marketed as one that's focused on NTR content, and indeed, something like 70% of the H-content is focused on the girls being with the would-be bull of the game. The problem is that this isn't integrated in the main story at all. You have to talk with the inn-keeper at night, who brings up the idea of lending the girl(s) out to other men, and then you have to have MC actually do the deed by talking with them. You're not really given a gameplay or story incentive to do any of this aside from the fact that MC finds the idea potentially hot, though the dialog with the inn-keeper doesn't seem like he's suddenly sold on it from the get go.

Of course, if you do go through with it, it starts off as mostly typical fetish Netorase stuff, but if you keep going long enough, it turns into literal Netorase, where the MC basically gives the girls away to the other guy. The progression for this is pretty fast tbh, and from I've seen, it relies a lot on "shit's totally been happening off-screen and time has totally been passing" kind of thing. It's basically not particularly great or satisfying. Finally, from what I've seen, it's less that the guy steals the girls away, and more that the girls decide that he's the better guy and leave, but admittedly, I got bored before really deep diving into all the events.

The thing is, while this content is supposed to be the core of the game, accessing it and engaging with it is handled like it's side-content. The NTR isn't so much avoidable as you actually have to go out of your way to get it to happen.

It feels like the dev regressed massively after the previous two games. Hell, it's worse than the fox and cat-girl game, where you at least had some semblance of a reason to get the girls to jump on various other dicks aside from the MCs... The only thing that's better than that game is the fact that the MC is called out from the start as having a small dick and being a quick a shot... but the art is still inconsistent about said dick-size...

Haaaaaaaah...

Honestly, I'm just plain disappointed in this game. I can't even motivate myself to properly play out all the NTR stuff... Maybe I'll do that if this ever gets a good translation, since that might make it worth replaying... but unless that happens. I dunno. You'd think I'd be used to it given how often Avantgarde fails to hit the mark with anything other than art...
