Using Unity for a VN is an odd choice to me.
- Using Unity as an engine, specially when there's nothing different compared to a visual novel in renpy seems meaningless and even a disavantage: there's only one save slot, the most of the players like to have different saves to explore different paths and to view again the lewd scenes. There's no automatic skip option neither.
For a VN with no significant/different mechanics, RenPy can be a good choice however we are planning a lot of different stuff that are simply not possible with RenPy thus we've decided to go with Unity. Of course we've just focused on building the base systems on the first build. Game will feature an open world and will be populated with minigames and other mechanics.
Nice game, just don't understand why it's so demanding on my high end PC. Is it trying to run at my monitor's 240Hz? My PC was hot like I was playing a modern, fairly demanding video game. Works alright on my 32:9 monitor. Black bars beyond 21:9 but the UI uses the full width. Aspect Ratio maintained properly. Actually seems optimised for 21:9 (unless it's cropping some of the top and bottom of the image to maintain that). Had to shelve it for now as we're experiencing a heat wave and I don't want the extra heat
The game is actually built and optimized for 16:9 display. Black bars are a design choice. Much like the cinematic bars on the movies you see. It actually gives us a better place to put subtitles without populating the image itself like most of the VN's. We'll explore our options for ultrawide displays in the future releases.
After arriving at the assistant girl's house, the game crashes. I played it twice to try it, but there was no problem until this point, but here it gives an error and the game does not load.
This is the first time we are getting a report like that. Would you mind trying the uncompressed build? We suspect it might be caused by a memory issue, either RAM or actual Temp drive could be out of space since that section has the biggest pre-load in the entire game for now.
- Great renders with great lighting and beautiful models.
- The game size is enormous for the short content, even the compressed version is to big. It seems that using unity has something to do with that, plus the engine consumes more pc resources than renpy.
- I enjoyed a lot the trying on scene and the lesbo tension. Some situations like the ending are very improbable.
Godspeed with this project, I'll be waiting for the new updates.
Thank you <3 While the ending seems abrupt, it will be detailed in the future release, letting you know what happened afterwards in a short flashback section. Whole prologue takes place 2 years prior to the main game events and Nat is telling what happened till the main game events by skipping some details, going straight to the point. Like the ending. She just says what happened after those events however it is not just a midnight decision. It has more to it.
Also really glad you liked the dressing up mini-game. Hope you've managed to unlock all 3 hidden outfits.
Regarding the save slots and auto-skip, we actually have an auto mod on the top menu. You can adjust text speed with the preferences section however we don't have a complete ''skip until x'' option. To be honest, we would like it to be played, not just skipped to the sex scenes. Future updates will have a cheat menu and feature options to unlock all the scenes without actual gameplay.
Final note on the game-size, as you've mentioned, it is due to unity however we will look into our options in terms of compressing more in the future iterations.
