Well the thing is that it is not widely known that that even is a thing.
It is not explained after all.
Sure once you know it is easy/easier even but without this important detail you would need to have ultra instinct trying to to the jump leap into them which is what the majority attempted and failed 99% of the time.
Hopefully with this video for clarity it will be a bit more clearer for people, giving them a fighting chance.
The intriguing thing here is that there is a tutorial for how to deal with the shieldbearers inside of the code, but it appears that either it was removed before it was shipped out or that it might be implemented in the future.

Here's the part in my translation where this takes place (which doesn't currently appear anywhere in the game as far as I am aware):
Code:
   [9]
    0 GText data
     1 string id = "exctip_1"
1 string en = "What a pain in the ass,"
   [10]
    0 GText data
     1 string id = "exctip_2"
1 string en = "First, I need to remove their shield..."
   [11]
    0 GText data
     1 string id = "exctip_3"
1 string en = "TIP:Enemies equipped with armor<c=red>cannot be taken down directly"
   [12]
    0 GText data
     1 string id = "exctip_4"
1 string en = "When there is an opening (the blue armor icon will flash red),"
   [13]
    0 GText data
     1 string id = "exctip_5"
1 string en = "Get close<q=pressE> to remove their armor"

guys in the f95 gallery is this trap loop animation, is it in game too?
Are you referring to this GIF that I placed in the gallery? If so, this trap animation is inside the game and in order to trigger it, you must crouch down in front of one of the tunnels between various parts of the map and then wait for an enemy to spot you, much like how they spot you when you perform the water basin trap. They'll get close and then the scene will play, after which you can execute them.

Overextending, impatience, maybe a pinch of skill issue mixed in there.
Something along these lines.
They would prolly whine less if the boss wouldn't take 2 hearts with some attack or the heal/ass fire bombs where more viable. (either don't hit or takes too long to set up properly)
Some have also complained about input delay or animations taking too long, you know, more technical shit like that.
playing with one hand can also be an issue
