Count Moxi has started working on this again, and posted an update on both the itch.io page and their blogspot with quite a bit new content - expected demo at the end of November.

Yup, I wouldn't hold my breath either. Count Moxi does wonderful stuff, but if you read his blog you'll notice almost every post is "apologies for delays". Stick it in a folder labled 'check december 2020' and try to forget about it till then.
February update posted a few days ago on the itch.io page - TLDR; demo not ready for end of Feb release like Moxi wanted, but it's almost done. Demo will include main screens, anal, and Rena Catch minigame.

I'm pretty damn sure the ''delays'' are gonna be worth the wait, just look at the UI animations, im eager to see what the full demo it's gonna be like, with the animations, minigames and all.

It's truly a pity this got abandoned i was looking foward to fuc-pettraining the shit out of my own tamagochi Renamon.
Tbh i truly think Digimons aren't getting enough action in general, they never did.

but moxi will deliver updates for renapet on this month for sure. so its not abandoned, is just at a super duper slow pace

At this pace it's gonna get forgotten like the actual source material.
Kinda of a shame, really.
Not abandoned - 58 days ago, UI test of concept demo. No content in it, but its an update, and while I don't know the exact time you need from last update to be considered abandoned, his blog posts do also show new content being made. Slow, sure, but not abandoned.

He also does weekly status updates on his patreon. Apparantly still working on this, but he's also doing about five other things at the same time.
